1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars Episode VII: Captain Phasma

No problem at all, my friend. It's simply my opinion.

The new film is a powerful force... It will help sell figures for sure, but it really is dependent on the number of figures that are planned to be made. I can see the Troopers selling well, as many collect armored types of figures. I just believe that Phasma will be the slow seller of the bunch, based on her scenes. I can't find one person that will admit that they were not disappointed with how her scenes panned out. That may be enough to turn off buying the figure.

I personally have no plans to purchase this rendition. (unless heavily discounted...)

Perhaps in Episode 8, she'll prove to be a great character and I'll then pick up that version.

I remember I had a 66 Batmobile and it was the best thing ever. It was about 5" diecast and fired missiles from the smoke stacks. I loved that thing. I stood on it one day and it hurt, got pissed and tossed it in the bin. Forgot about it. Gone now.

Kathleen Kenedy and Gwendoline Christie have both said Phasma has a prominent role in Ep. 8. I still love the character design and have no problems with my PO of her, knowing she will be put to greater use in future films.

With the way they built her up, I can only imagine she'll have a more prominent role in the next one. Remember, Boba Fett really never did a whole lot other than stand around most of the time and he's one of the biggest fan favorite out there. She can only go up from here!

I still love the design enough that if we never saw her again, I'd still want a figure of her.

I think people's imaginations are lacking if they had this on PO before the movie and are now cancelling b/c her role wasn't prominent enough. So if she had a couple 'pewpew' scenes she'd be badass somehow? There is no nostalgic connection to this character, regardless of before or after, so anyone that ordered, ordered b/c it looked cool. It still looks cool (and whatever didn't happen in the movie that you wished happened, you can just... god forbid... imagine happening... with your own mind... instead of JJ's...). OK to keep your PO folks. The fickleness of this hobby is ridiculous.

Agreed! Her figure can be as bad-*** as you want to make her. The movies don't prevent a figure from being capable of so much more!

Um, I don't think anyone that has preordered her has actually cancelled because they thought she sucked, it's just guys "justifying" (if I should call it that), why they are not still getting her. I think a lot of us haven't preordered, and the few that have are likely keeping it coz she does look cool and if about to cancel for other reasons anyway. Hot Toys have always been behind with releases, but only recently learning how to time it with movie releases. It's still new to them and us, and we're both adjusting as seller and customer with how that creates demand in the market. If only they were to release more consistantly like a monthly book rather in batches all at once...

I guess they are trying to pull of a Fett with Phasma - a character in armor that does pretty much nothing but hanging around looking cool.

Honestly, I fell in love with the characters based on her visual, so there's no reason for me to not be happy getting this figure. Actually, once I got the voice changer mask from the Disney Store and heard the dialogue they chose for her, I was pretty sure she wasn't going to have a huge role. LOL.

Woah. That makes her more interesting. I cancelled before the movie, but actually liked her performance in TFA. I don't think I want her, but she was still pretty cool.

I have a feeling she'll def be holding a grudge against Finn in VIII after he humiliated her. Then we'll see her show her skills.
