My concern would be if she shows up in Episode 8 wearing a completely different outfit. (Past Star Wars marketing just about guarantees that will happen.)

Then this current outfit will be remembered as the "she got pwned!" version.

I'll just wait for the next version.

I highly doubt that.

Her suit is made from the same chrome material from one of Amidala's ships.

It's a trophy. I don't see her getting rid of that so quickly.

I'll remember it as the outfit that stopped a blaster bolt and killed *** :dunno

Honestly, she's a fine looking figure and would look great on any shelf, but just not seeing the comparison to Boba outside of the "they both look cool" part. Part of what made Boba interesting, to me, is that he was involved in capturing a main character (one of the coolest ever) and bringing this bounty to Jabba, the story of which had been set up in the film prior with Greedo, etc. Phasma so far hasn't done anything of interest, to me, to that degree. Her interaction regarding Finn feels somewhat bureaucratic in nature and doesn't have the same effect as the line "he's no good to me dead" or being told "no disintegrations" as the situations/stakes are not comparable. Anyway to each his own.

Perhaps the next film will be Star Wars Episode VIII: Revenge Of Captain Phasma?

The figure does look awesome, but there is something about what role the character plays that adds to the charisma of the figure. I'm hoping the character will return in the sequels and prove a formable foe like a new age Boba Fett.

In People Magazine (Star Wars Edition) it said she will have a bigger role in the next movie and basically be a Bounty Hunter for the First Order.

Exactly. For as wimpy and pathetic as Boba Fett was in ROTJ, he's still nothing like Phasma.

Boba Fett

- known for disintegrations
- Vader knows his infamy personally
- privy to Han's garbage trick in the Falcon
- tracks Han, Leia and Chewbacca in the Slave 1
- alerts the Empire
- seen as Vader's right hand man
- gets to keep Han Solo as a captured bounty
- some cool lines
- aware of a sneaking Luke, shoots at him
- escapes with Han

Phasma on the other hand,

- scolds Finn
- patrols around the Starkiller Base
- she gets taken hostage, surrenders for her life and betrays the First Order by shutting down the shields
- thrown into a trash compactor off screen

I thought that's what EP 4, 5 and 6 were??? :dunno

Yes, as a whole that's true, but each trilogy also needs it's own story arc - TFA is just beginning of a new story even though it fits into a larger one. Hopefully by the end both the new story and the larger one will be wrapped up satisfactorily.

With all the pre-TFA talk about more female representation in SW and the overrated-ness that is Boba Fett in the OT (and this coming from a huge Boba fan), Kennedy and Lucasfilm would have to be complete idiots NOT to make Phasma a legit villain in Ep8 and possibly Ep9.

‘Star Wars 8’ Has Big Plans for This ‘Force Awakens’ Villain

Again, this is just one more Star Wars: The Force Awakens story where we must issue a SPOILER warning. If you watch the sequel closely, the end is rather ambiguous in terms of what happens to most of the new characters. And if you have only seen the sequel one time, you may be scratching your head, asking, 'What happened to Captain Phasma?' She doesn't get much screen time, and she is dispatched without much of a good-bye. Rest assured, though, she is coming back in a big way in Star Wars: Episode VIII. About the character's return, Gwendoline Christie had this to say. "She makes a lot of impact but she's not at the forefront of the action all the time. She's an important character, a baddie in the best sense of the word." Many fans have compared her to Boba Fett, especially after seeing the movie. While she leads a raid in the movie, her big scene comes when she is captured by Finn. She doesn't clock much screen time. But in an interview with The Los Angeles Times earlier this month, Star Wars: The Force Awakens producer and LucasFilm head honcho Kathleen Kennedy confirmed Gwendoline Christie as the first new cast member to return for Star Wars: Episode VIII. Since that time, though, most of the new cast has also been confirmed to return, with John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver all coming back in some capacity. We're not sure if we've seen the last of Domhnall Gleeson or not. But Mark Hamill is rumored to have a role comparable to Han Solo's in Star Wars 7 when he returns for Star Wars 8. While Mark Hamill has already shot some of his scenes on Skellig Michael in Ireland for Star Wars: Episode VIII, the rest of the cast won't return to set until this spring. Captain Phasma's role in the sequel has not been divulged at this time, but it's expected she'll get more screen time than Boba Fett did in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. And from the sounds of it, she will last longer, too. As she is not yet on the menu of any desert dwelling creatures. In the earlier LA Times interview, Gwendoline Christie had this to say about her still somewhat mysterious character. "We see women in a different range of roles in the film. And the reason I love my character so much and I feel so enthusiastic about Capt. Phasma is, yes, she's cool, she looks cool, she's a villain - but more than that, we see a female character and respond to her not because of the way she looks. We respond to her because of her actions. I think we're a society that has promoted a homogenized idea of beauty in women - and in men - and I think it's really interesting, modern and necessary to have a female character that isn't about the way her body looks. It isn't about her wearing makeup. It's not about her being conventionally feminized. The idea of this enormous legacy and franchise embracing an idea like that, which of course to many of us feels logical, is actually really progressive. And long overdue." Are you excited to see Captain Phasma get more of a role in Star Wars: Episode VIII? Were you disappointed that she didn't show up much in this latest sequel? Sound off below, and let us know how you think she's get her revenge on Finn. You know he's got it coming.

I thought this feminist thing was over years ago. It's even stronger now that we you can vote the first ladies.
Anyway Phasma should'a shot first.

Or....maybe we get another trilogy that fits into an even larger one...and

Disney wouldn't do that, would they? :dunno

:lol

Ok. She got punched in the head by a 7 1/2' tall Wookie (not Solo or Finn). I don't care who you are, you're going down.

Yeah, pretty much. I don't at all see her like Boba, though I understand why people are saying it. Honestly, she's really more akin to like Bossk or one of the handful of ANH Death Star officers that had a line or two. She's just another interesting looking nobody at the moment, like many Star Wars characters.

I don't like that they're now selling her for what she 'might' do in the next film.

They shouldn't have marketed her so prevalently in the first place. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice..."
