This is just my personal opinion, and I don't want to upset anyone, but I'm seeing a caricature of a black man in this rather than the character of Finn as played by John Boyega. The lips are larger, his expression is angry rather than resolute, his face is more thickset, the skin colour is darker than the prototype and the whites of the eyes are more pronounced. HT have done plenty of good sculpts of black actors, and I'm not jumping up and down alleging anything, but that's what I see. Quite happy to be told I'm seeing something that isn't there.

From what I've seen, 100% agree. Happy to hold final judgement until I see some more in hand shots, but I'm very disappointed today...

The sculpt looks fine to me :dunno Yeah, you could nitpick, but it's clearly John Boyega. Didn't PO this one - waiting for Stormie Finn - but it looks great. Seeing that jacket reaaaaally makes me want a plainclothes Poe. Alas.

That's an awful pic to use the comparison with above. Need an in hand natural lighting pic to do that with.

But no amount of lighting is going to change the smaller forehead, the hairline, the much simplified and misshapen ear, to take just the obvious differences.

Looks good to me- these pics alot of times distort certain elements of the faces so in hand will be the test

... the heavier jawline, the squarer chin, the simplified shape of the hair and hairline, the shallow sculpting of the hair...

It's like the factory saw what they wanted to see, not what was there.

And the lips, and the flattened nose...

EPIC FAIL!

The proto was AMAZING :(

Find me a better one and I'd be more than happy to re-compare. The shots above are even worse. The interpretation of the production portrait reminds me of the "interpretation" Time magazine did of OJ Simpson for their cover during his trial (for those of us old enough to remember).

Thanks for posting that video, BatBrain. Seeing him being moved and rotated through space with the opportunity to see him from all those angles confirms it for me....this is a hatchet job.

Easy cancel.

Seeing more pics and comparisons, I agree that this is a new sculpt. I don't think it's bad though, except for the lips looking slightly too big. I think it looks like Boyega, but the old one looked like him too, just better maybe. I see Boyega a great deal in both sculpts.
