I mean, realistically there's only so far they can go with these figures. It'll never be exactly like her, same goes for many others too.

but she's still a gem to have in your collection

EP VIII will probably be even better..look how far HT has come with the Captain America sculpt

I have high hopes for HT and Rey by EP IX

If the woman's eyes were not so distinctive, it would be easier to forgive HT for not sculpting them. I guess Lance's were easier.

You guys are comparing the wrong photos. This figure isn't a mini Daisy..it's a good likeness to Daisy as Rey

Comparing the sculpt to a Daisy Glamour shot is a bad comparison

Is it 100%..no but it's the best I've seen in figure form thus far..and in person it looks even better in the likeness IMO.

Just picked my Rey/BB-8 set up from the UPS depot. Initial thoughts are I'm very happy I added her to the collection. I took some quick pics while I still had a bit of natural light. These are straight from the box with futzing limited to removal of plastic, a single hand swap and addition of her bo staff.

The only nit pick I have at the moment is the light(s?) on BB-8. It's only his eye and I'm not sure if it's just mine, but it's not centred, like he's looking slyly to the side and feeling a bit sleepy. They light up feature hardly seems worth it. For such a low powered light I would hope the battery lasts. Anyway, onto the pics.

First up, figures out of Hong Kong (sent by Sideshow, but hopefully any other stock now released) do now include the teeth detail. Macro shot here showing that. I note it's a macro shot for all the likeness arguments.

That out of the way, here's some pics of the figure straight from the box. Hope you enjoy.

And lastly, the money shot (I've since switched the gloved hand holding the staff to the ungloved).

Edit: I also kinda wish they had wired her scarf (not sure what to call that top). Would have added some great posing options.

Part of the reason as well as already having a sphero of not getting the 2 pack was the brown paintwork.

It's definitely orange, albeit dark orange. But then the sphero is a little too bright imo. Plus the Hot Toys is a bit weathered and has texture that looks great in hand. But I totally get not wanting to pay more after shelling out for the sphero.

I put Rey and BB8 on flex-pay at Sideshow, I can't wait to get this figure.

I don't know, I think they did a pretty good job with the head sculpt. I see it and instantly think Daisy Ridley as Rey. I'm not seeing Tom Cruise, Sigourney Weaver or Michael B. Jordan in this one.

Yup, I love that the "looks nothing like her" crew is back in full force now that she's shipped. The idea of people picking her up and not knowing which character from Star Wars she's supposed to be makes me laugh.

Also:

I'd say she's 65% there. Definitely needs lots of improvement.

Worst comparison ever.
