Looking good. Still can't believe you guys put your $200 plus figures in the grass and dirt :panic:

It's not like they're going to melt. These aren't some sacred, precious, ultra rare artifacts. Or live organs or whatever.

I know that, but the bugs in the woods and the germs in the trees. And at $200 that's an investment one should not treat so lightly :lecture

Wimps. It's just the plastic bottoms of their boots in most cases that touches the dirt or grass. Or you can always use stands, though Chewie did come back with some burrs stuck in his fur the last time he ventured outdoors.

Just remember that the figure might be worth $200, but in most cases the stand or the boots (part touching that scary dirt) are only worth about $10-$20.

I usually take indoor shots but I was too lazy to set up the lights in my dark room , however I do think natural light and natural backgrounds look really good with figures like this one, just dont he dumb about it and it shouldn't be an issue regardless how much the figure costs

So I'm a coward when it comes to this topic..at $200 per HT figure, I think I deserve the right to be scared :lecture. I don't have money to burn

Are there some horror stories you've come across where the entire figure was destroyed after a trip outside? The one concern I would have is super white figures like the stormtroopers getting too much sun exposure, but that would more likely come from a shelf by a window.

Hey, do what you want with your figures. They're yours. Want to take them outside? Go for it. Don't see a need to? Then don't. :)

I'm the same. I'd like to take my figures outside and pose them in the environment, but I know I'd be very angry at myself if I accidentally got them dirty with mud or grass by doing so. Some people don't care about that sort of thing, and that's fine (it's their money), but for me and other people $200 is a lot and that means treating our expensive things with extra care.

There's really no reason for anyone to take any of these outside except for some photo shoots, but we've seen some outstanding ones lately (thinking of the Jawas and Sandtrooper from JB at the moment and some here in the Rey thread), and I don't recall anyone ever mentioning that they damaged their figure, or reduced the value. Customizing is far more "risky" in that regard.

I've posed my figures in all sorts of areas and weather.
I've posed my Sideshow Hoth Luke and Tauntaun in 8 feet of snow.
Just to get the Hoth effect.
I've posed my Hot Toys Predators in the woods behind my house.
My twin brother bought Maleficent in Portland,ME and posed her along an ocean cliff in York,ME.
When my lawn comes back from being scorched all summer I'll be digging a hole for Ant-Man to be sticking out of.

Give it a rest guys..sorry to stir up bad feelings..Do whatever you want with your figures..I'll do the same :lecture
