No, no it doesnt ruin the whole figure.
Yeah I get his hair changes from scene to scene, thanks btw for that cinematic insight, but HT went overboard with the length and fullness
of his hair. Add that to all the little "offs" about the sculpt and it detracts as a whole for some of us.
Werent some of you the same group of "good enoughs" in the Blade thread before they made the changes?:wave

I cannot remember who else was in that group but I know I was one that was happy with the original head too and I certainly didn't cry foul like you are doing here.
Yes the final head was clearly better but I still would've been happy as over all it was still a great figure.
Plus Blade had a far less likeness to Snipes than what we have here.

I don't think it's entirely unfair to say that some of you are expecting just too much. If there was better T1 figure out there I'd say the complaints were maybe warranted. But there isn't better out there.

If stuff bothers you that's cool but I just wouldn't voice it with such authority. You are obviously in the minority here.

And do you have any idea how flippen hard it is to get likeness in art?? Flippen crazy hard is what!! :)

it's very nice, but how often are these sample photos the same as what ends up in our hands? they must have put that prototype disclaimer for some reason?

Agreed. Hot Toys have done a fantastic job with this figure.
Its good enough for me and thats all that matters to me.
Sure, it could be better...but where would it all end?
Everones idea of perfection is different and therefore impossible.
And people would still find things to nit-pick about another persons perfection.

Please give me an example of a Hot Toys dropping the ball on the final in hand figure?

If you have no example then this post is a prime reason as to why this thread sucks and folks having a negative opinion just for the sake of it.

But I am sure you have a good example right?

I am asking a question for others to answer and your answer is a question for me?

You see this is what has me confused. Some comments from people make out like this thread is nothing but a nest of complaints and nitpicking but I have seen far far worse. In fact I think the response to this figure has been overwhelmingly positive :dunno

yeah do we have an accurate count of how many peeps here pre-ordered this already, I kind of lost count after last Friday night. thank you.

:exactly:

Id say its only about 20-30% at the most who complain about this figure...and most of them are the ones who complain about it not being the police station shoot out version.
And a LOT less complain about the sculpt/hair.
I know ive gave some nit-picks myself, but I hope ive made it clear to people that i dont see them as "faults"...or anything that takes away from the figure...they dont bother me in the slightest to be perfectly honest.

I dont know but im pre-ordering 2 of them on monday and will pre-order a 3rd next month.
This will be the 1st time I pre-order more than one of the same figure.:)

edit: sorry for double post.

The only major difference is the paint work. Because obviously the prototype is a one-off, meticulously hand painted piece by JC Hong and the final mass production heads go through an assembly line for paint. But as of late HT (IMO) always nails the paint for the final pieces that go on the market.

they must have put that prototype disclaimer for some reason?

Usually any change from the proto to finished piece is an upgrade. And that disclaimer is just standard. Because if/when HT upgrades the initial prototype they don't re-shoot the entire set of pics. They might release some new pics.. but I've never seen HT go back and re-release ALL the initial prototype pics. And even the box art will still depict the original prototype (like the TDK Batman).

very good thanks devil for this, just wanted some more information since I'm still new to the Hot Toys collecting and wanted to know if other license figures have been dealt with before.

very nice what will be the set ups and will you keep one unopened SINP?

Well, obviously im going to display the 2 different looks(Technoir and arm-surgery)...just havent decided the poses yet.
and with the 3rd one, im either going to customise it into a police station shoot out, create another look(wearing no jacket?) or keep it new in the box....im really not sure yet so sorry about the boring answer.

Heres a final update of that pic i edited earlier:

Basically, I just stretched his face out a bit.
I personally think it looks better now.
What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

no no not at all, it's a fine choice Game and I wish I had the space to do the same. just wish they sold miniature chairs and tables to really mimick the surgery scene. I hope you can take photos when it's all set up thanks!

when you listen to the Definite Edition soundtrack I get creeped out listening to that track for the surgery scene, very harsh sounds!
