I finaly put my foot pegs in makes a BIG differnce.....1st pics b4 2nd pic is after pegs put in.. didnt have any needle nose pliers so used the boot trick put on pull off gently to remove footpeg from boot..

I'm about to replace the ankle pegs to make the figure taller, but I wanted to check before I started if anyone has done it and has thought it was worth doing. I'd like my figure to be closer in height to where I think he should be but if it makes him look out of proportion or wonky it probably wouldn't be worth it. Just wondering what others have experienced.

use needle nose pliers to remove foot pegs after pull boot off genty ...IF PEG STILL IN like mine was ..the one peg was in boot and other not ..so put pegged boot on opposite leg and put on and again gently pull off boot again..then put on pegs on legs then attach boots..

I just replaced the foot pegs last night, it is mandatory in my opinion.
I stand corrected, I was not gonna use it at first cause I felt he looks ok with Thor being taller. But was doing some mod on Cap last night and decided to change it and its a huge huge change. Makes him look a lot more symmetrical.

Go for it. With the factory fitted pegs he was too short next to Indy. There's a lot of support in the boots to keep him from being wonky.

When I pulled the boots off, one peg remained on the ankle and the other in the boot. It was a bugger to remove with needlenose pliars, as they just kept slipping off the ball. However, putting the boot back on and gently taking it off again did the trick of leaving the second peg on the ankle.

After that it was easy. You can pull the pegs out of the ankles with your fingers.

The only real problem is keeping his hands on the wrist pegs. They fall off if you look at them funny!

I have a pair of needlenose pliars that have a small curve at the tip. Makes it easy to grab just below the pegs ball.

Hey! I really appreciate everyone's advice. I just replaced the ankle pegs. I was able to pull one of the old ones out that stayed in the boot with some pliers that seemed to be just the right size.
My only beef with the figure I received was the height and the longer ankle pegs fixed the issue perfectly.
As far as QC issues I've read about I was really worried before receiving mine. I was lucky to have the star and A on straight and have the longer ankle pegs included. I am wondering if it is better to buy from someone like CSC because even if you are one of the last people to get the figure, chances are it will be in better shape because things get tweaked at the factory during the course of a production run.

Yes -- the initial production runs often have bugs, QC issues, etc. that tend to get ironed out in later production batches. So generally--the longer you wait the better the chance that your fig will be unblemished.

My Cap arrived last week from BBTS. No problems whatsoever.
The impatient ones with OCD who pay high prices to get the figs from Asia hot off the assembly line are the ones who have problems, then broadcast said problems ad nauseum.

When swapping the ankle pegs, I found one peg stayed in the boot and the other peg stayed on the ankle. If you have a one-or-the-other issue like this, then try popping the ankle peg in the bootwell on the other ankle socket that held the other peg. This has worked for me multiple times. Some sockets are a bit tighter than others. A blast of hot air will also soften the boots enough to allow the pegs to slip out.
If these steps fail, then it's needlenose time . . .

You and me both :duff
And me :impatient: How many weeks ago did Sideshow ship their orders? Four? We would have been better off not pre-ordering.

Edit: just went back through the thread and sideshow shipped their first figures on December 5th - 38 days ago.

I am not so sure how common actual comics/collectibles store (not online stores) outside of California that carries good high end toys like HT or Sideshow products out there are, but it seems like alot of people tends to buy stuff online and have the items ship to them.

I think there's an advantage of buying stuff from actual shop, where you can inspect the item before purchase, that way it cuts down alot of errors and headaches.

I but all my stuff from CSC and I go pick it up there. I get to check out 3-4 boxes and choose the best one without any flaws. In IF there's anything wrong and flaws on the products, they got me covered and saves me alot of stress and headaches over faulty products.

Wow. A crazy long time. I lost some interest in the figure the wait has been that long. Add in the likelihood of a defect I go back and forth on canceling. Either way, I get charged a restocking fee or (if defect) I pay to return. But I love the look so much......

EDIT: I just received shipping notice, he is expected to arrive tomorrow. I hope in good shape.....
