Will these two likely be released at the same?

If a combinend order is made and they release at the same time what will the shipping be the UK? They are $25 each, is combined shipping usually less than if done individually.

If one releases before the other will the shipping be more?

You guys are underestimating the value of these figures. You look at other figures around this and even if they were ten or twenty cheaper it doesn't mean these are a waste of money. Amber's outfit is especially elaborate, but so is Baby Doll's outfit and her hair. That and the diecast katana will definitely add on to the price. I mean look at Jill and Black Widow. Battle suits. Basically Yoga tights. Ooooo... Very complex. Jill had 90% reused everything from weapons to the face sculpt yet you still paid a lot for it. Everything here is new. They even had to tweak the bodies. Captain America is very bare bones, but we can usually agree he's worth it because of the complexity of the design and the high quality. It's the same here. Also, Hot Toys is raising their price everyday it seems like. Even if they do make more Sucker Punch figures, I wouldn't be surprised if those retailed for 180 by the time they went up for preorder.

Comparing this to Saeko is ridiculous. Anime sculpts are not as hard to accurately do and her outfit is fairly simple, as are her accessories. It's nothing like say Amber, where they had to get the actor's likeness and try to do that outfit.

I don't know how you can either deranged or angry from her expression.

Empty maybe... but she looks calm as a lobotomized vegetable... oh wait.

For those in Europe, Cite des Nuages has them at 159.90 Euro per girl. That's 226 USD O___o

I think I might be better off preordering from another site. Anyone have a suggestion where I can preorder these without paying insane amounts for shipping to Belgium?

You could try Gator. It's located in the Netherlands.

At this point I don't see the figures up for order yet, but I'm sure they will be soon.

There are more peeps than usual having a whine about both of these figures, and it's almost all about the price. My take is that if people were delighted with what they saw, they wouldn't mind the cost so much. But few appear to be happy with the expression on either of these two sculpts, ie they don't connect with the character.

Charity aside, the Superman figure is overpriced. But despite the very minor flaws in the likeness, most seem committed to buying it and the overwhelming view seems to be that the figure captures the Reeve Supes character very well.

Value is one thing, what people are prepared to pay is another. People will pay $130 for a figure that doesn't meet their expectations on likeness or expression, but they will balk at $160. I thought I was a dead cert to PO these two, and without so many great releases on the horizon I may have picked them up just for hits and giggles. But I don't dig the likeness on Amber, and the expression on both figures is lacking IMO. I suspect quite a few others are feeling the same, hence the whining over the dollars.

Where is the much revered Tim Miller rant when you need it....

I said it before, I said it again. HT prices have remained relatively the same over the years with only a mild increase recently. It's the US retailers and ebayers that are raising the price because of the raising demand for HT.

Alice is more expensive here than Babydoll. That really proved my point that people are artificially raising the price of Babydoll.

I had an interesting talk with a fellow collector today about Babydoll and HT in general and we both came to the conclusion that nothing HT does seem to pleased anyone anymore.

I guess there is a price to be paid for being the best in the market.

Not buying what you're selling, sorry. Pretty much everyone was pleased with the HT DX04 release, the same can be said about the HT IM Mark VI release - and that was chock full of QC issues.

HT has set the expectation bar at a certain level for collector's with prior releases, so when they release new figures that fail to catch the likeness of the actor/actress in the sculpt and slap a high price tag on it, collector's will voice their opinions strongly.

Letting HT off the hook by making excuses for why they cannot reach or exceed their current standard them accomplishes nothing, it's detrimental.

This thread is fantastic :lol

:clap

This is precisely what we were talking about. Fail to catch the likeness of an actor? Babydoll might not be 100% but it's at least a 90% sculpt. And this is only at the proto stage. I think final judgement should be rendered only when the final product is out. Knowing HT, they will tweak it, like they did for pretty much every single figure yet everyone is talking like this thing is already out.

Talk about double standards. I see people a lot more forgiving with EB GOD BL for all their QC issues and broken promises. Sure, the Mark VI has its fair share of issues, but that's like what, one release out of how many? Complain and feel entitle all you want, HT still have the best quality and consistency in the business.

Despite all that they still do their best and strive to take things to the next level with every release. It's funny, just last week people were fearing the worst that HT might have dropped this license.

Now I get the impression that people really would have prefer that HT not do figures from Sucker Punch after all.

90%? :lol If you really believe that then there's no point discussing it further.

Carry on. :wave

It's amusing how people keep trying to bring up EB to somehow justify HT's mediocrity :lol

Likewise, no point talking to a brick wall.

It's amusing how people keep trying to bring up EB to someone justify HT's mediocrity :lol
It's even more amazing how people are ok with paint rubs on on BL heads and stained body and still call it a great buy.

Name 5 people who got paint rub sculpts on their EB BL's and called it a "great buy". I bet you can't.

You've resorted to making things up and reaching to trying to bring up EB b/c you have nothing to say about HT's mediocrity in this release.

You are a frequent in the GOD thread. You know full well of what I am talking about. I don't need to name names.

i am looking forward to this release. $170.00 with free domestic shipping is acceptable to me. i hope we continue to get sculpt updates up until release. some minor face tweaks as demonstrated in this thread could really make this a standout figure. any implanted hair figure has its risk as the hair can really add or detract from the sculpt (it needs a very thick, sleek look to it - especially the bangs - and not frizzy and thin). it does definitely need a belly button as that was one of the highlights in the movie and a defining feature.
