Waste, lol.
But Hugo has said he wouldn't be back. I don't think it was much fun playing Red Skull.

He never actually said he wouldn't be back. He said he didn't like the process, but here are his last statements regarding Marvel.

"I thought it would be a lot of fun to play a classic über-Nazi, someone who thought Hitler was a *****! [Laughs] It was fun to play; I enjoyed the outrageousness of the German accent that I employed and I enjoyed the extraordinary mask and costume, even though it was unbelievably hot inside it. I enjoy mask work; I enjoy trying to animate masks and reveal certain things that the mask itself might not reveal. V for Vendetta was another example of that, but there was less animation within that mask versus the Red Skull."

"With Marvel, it’s pretty basic stuff: accept the deal and enjoy the ride. It’s not a major stretch for an actor, but on the other hand the difficulty with the Marvel universe is maintaining a link to a human dimension within such an extraordinary, technological CGI universe. In terms of me going back and doing another one, I don’t know. I’m not sure what they’re up to with the Red Skull."

He needs to come back. The back from the dead super villain is too a big a trope not to use and Red Skull is the best character to do that with. Nobody wants to see Obidaiah Stane again...

Is the red skull even dead ... we didn't really see it and he could have just as easily been absorbed into the infinity stone as vaporized by it - which is a process that Marvel could reverse quite easily if they wanted to. I hope he comes back.

Cool, I certainly didn't think I'd find a Red Skull when I woke up this morning; they also have the Rescue version of Captain America for the same price...it'll be hard talking myself out of getting that one to go with the Red Skull. Both were released a little before I started collecting.

Just wondering what you all thought about a deal I got on this the other day. I was at TF con in DC yesterday. I found a seller who is selling some hot toy figures. And saw the red skull. I was able to talk to seller down to 200. While I was looking to figure over before I bought it he told me that he had problems getting the coat on and that he took the other outfit off to do it. I didn't think much of it this as I didn't know you're not supposed to do that. When I got home and went to put the coat on I read the instructions and it said do not remove it as it could damage the figure. I then closely looked over it and realized that he broke the clip at the top around the neck for the gray suit. As I was putting on the coat I realize one of the inside snaps was broken. None of this is noticeable from looking at the figure. As the snap of the coat is on the inside and then color to the gray suit you can't tell it's actually broken. Kind of frustrates me as he did not tell me he had broken knees. Can't really do anything to get my money back. I did look before I bought it at what the going rate was and it seems he goes for around 300 or more. So my question is do you all think that I got a good deal or did I get swindled. Like I said I'm more frustrated that he never told me those parts are broken as I'm sure he knew. I also noticed there's a shiny spot on the human head. I know from buying figures sometimes they just come like this. But not sure.

Just an opinion from someone who buys used - assuming this fig new is selling at 300 or more AND it's one of the more desired HTs - so essentially you paid original retail price for a slightly damaged figure. Which IMO if you knew ahead of time and now it's only upmarket prices would be OK.

But sounds like you were buying used, sure, or open box, and there were lies of omission. Sounds like the guy was trying to get as much as he could. So it was squirrely. So maybe if you had known you would have paid $150-175. So based on being a damaged but displayable fig you probably overpaid a bit. But depending on how hard or expensive this fig is to get now and if it works in your collection IMO you did OK.
Sounds like the seller knew and took what they could get when you talked them down. On the other hand too it's possible too the seller didn't notice some things. Some people are rough on their figs and small stuff they don't notice. Just my 2 cents.

Re-posed this guy over the weekend:

"Evidently not."

I just watched The First Avenger for the 20th+ time and noticed the uniform the Red Skull wore under the leather coat was black instead of gray...unless I missed something. Was this an oversight; did he ever wear a gray one in the film?

It's a *really* dark green in the movie. My guess is that it was colour-corrected in editing, and the original colour of the costume was closer to the HT one, and they got pics of that for their reference. People on here have tried to dye the HT costume darker but it doesn't always work.

Thanks for the response UN, I thought it was an odd choice by HT cause it looks way lighter than in the film.

Yeah, with my partial color-blindedness, it fooled me too. I bought a Red Skull and then used the Schmidt sculpt with plans for a darker uniform. I eventually just stuck with the knock-off release and it does appear lighter...but he's displayed in the back of my Detolf behind Red Skull.. :)
