Got my City Hunter the other day from Crowinghorse, I was on the fence for so long but I'm glad I got it. Is it perfectly accurate? No, no HT figures are, but it is incredibly impressive in person. I added fine mesh to the helmet lenses and re-laced the belt, I think it looks as good as I could have ever hoped a 1/6 P2 could look.

Maybe they should make a show similar to Deadliest Warrior instead breaking down the advantages/disadvantages of fictional characters and pitting them against one another. :p

I've thought of this as well, hah. Check out Super Power Beat Down on youtube, similar concept :)

height: due to actors' heights classic pred is a lot lower than P1, P2 and it is well seen when he is filmed together with people.
berserker shares scenes with classic and it shows that he just slightly taller than classic.
berserker is in the middle between classic and P2. actors didn't act in space, they were surrounded by weapons, things, other people, so height difference is seen easily.

strength:
P2 broke iron mech in metro without noticing it, he made a hole in reinforced concrete floor (under the lift) being injured and week.

classic pred couldn't break a chain which was broken with an axe in human's hand in one hit. take an axe, take a chain thin enough for a human to break it - and you'll see what chain classic cannot tear.

berserker couldn't defeat classic pred for an enough long time. when they were struggling, they were almost equal. also remember that classic was weakened from hanging.

ergo: berserker is a superweak creature beaten by a pianist, classic is a predator's teenager - small and weak.

rodrigators are kidnappers and kid butchers according to what Morpheus said: they always bring small and weak classic predators, hiding on one planet not to have conflicts with true predators.

that is what Predator 1, Predator 2 and Rodrigators actually show.
i don't care what Rodrigues intended to do )

That would actually be a great idea. If done well,it would be fun to watch something like that.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the predators of Predator 3 are 'intended' to be bigger than the jungle hunter and city hunter. Thus the Hot Toys Berserker ought to have been bigger.

Thanks. This was my point exactly.:clap

Here's a quick pic I snapped. I just took a small piece of sheer black ribbon that I found at the craft store for a dollar, pried out the rubber eye piece, and fit it back in over the ribbon, no glue required. The belt was just brown leather cord wrapped in a way that may not be accurate, but I like how it looks for now.

The cord for the belt looks approximately accurate. From what I can tell from looking through screencaps and prop photos it changes quite a bit from scene to scene.

Brian Steele, actor for berserker: 6' 7"

Kevin Peter Hall, actor for P1, P2 and Grayback: 7'2"

do your homework.

Actually you need to do yours.

All 3 Predators in the 3rd movie are supposed to be bigger than the Preds from the first two. Like Lar'ja Thwei pointed out with the quote from Noland. That's WITHIN the movies. Not in real life. Just like WITHIN the movies all the actors who play Hobbits are like 2-4 feet tall but in real life, obviously the actors who play them aren't. Except Elijah Wood maybe. :lol

and another lesson: there never was any P2 elder. it's Grayback.

And another lesson for you: There was never any "Grayback" either. That Predator + all the other Predators seen at the end of the second movie have no official names. They're not even listed in the credits of the film.

"Grayback" was just a nickname some of the movie crew gave it. It's no more official than P2 Elder, Elder Pred, etc. They're all nicknames.

The only official names are:

Predator (Predator, Predator 2 & AVP:R) Scar (AVP) Classic Predator, Falconer Predator, Berserker Predator & Tracker Predator (Predators)

Because those are from the movie credits. Every other name is either a nickname from the movie crew on-set or a fan made nickname.

:wave

Ehhh, just my opinion, but a name that the crew gave a creature is as close to official as possible. Whereas a script and a director may give a loose interpretation of what a creature should look like, "the crew" (Stan Winston's design team tasked with creating the creatures in this case) basically conceive, conceptualize, render, sculpt, create, animate, and control the creature. There isn't any other group of people more intimate with the character. Lumping a name they gave it in with what fans use as an identifier is... not accurate. Those official names are names given to them by marketers and studio cronies and in some cases, directors or crew that are far more concerned with their corner of the movie. "Grayback" is something it's parents named it. But that's just my opinion. I'm not in school anymore so I don't really do any homework.

if you think fanmade nicknames are equal to crew nicknames, you're totally mistaken )
and if you think i don't know anything you have to say about predators, you're mistaken as well.

if you read more carefully and not just to answer, you'd see what i said:
when some second-hand movie maker thinks he has a right to say his creatures are in any way better, he must be able to show it.
he wasn't able. his "super predators" including berserker still can be seen compared to other people and they don't look as high as P1/2 compared to people.
plus berserker is seen next to classic and he is not a lot taller.
and classic is seen on one screen with lots of people, and it is clearly visible that he is much shorter than P1, P2. so there is no attempt to show big predators and superbig "super"predators.
hobbits in your example were shown as small guys.
rodrigators weren't.

You're not getting it. Or refusing to at least.

No matter how much you hate the film and it's creations, the super predators are larger than the originals. Fact. Canon. Deal with it.

I mean, that was pretty much the whole point of the film. Large predators hunting the smaller, classic ones. Dogs & Wolves...a blood feud, as Noland says.

If you expected them to go out and find someone 8+ feet tall to play the super predators, I don't know what to tell ya. :lol

I haven't reposed a figure this many times this close to getting it in awhile.
Edit: ****, I forgot to futz the damn knee pad. I'll retake the shot later.

I was surprised by the range of motion he has compared to the previous hinge jointed Preds. The ball joints actually allow for a pretty good range of natural movement and I don't miss the torso articulation.

:lol:lol:lol:rotfl

They're both equally unofficial.

when some second-hand movie maker thinks he has a right to say his creatures are in any way better, he must be able to show it.

Better!? What the hell are you babbling about? The Super Predators are bigger than the regular Predators. Deal with it. :lol

Earlier I agreed with him that he was right and I was wrong and he STILL kept trying to argue with me. That's when I blocked him. I only have a couple people blocked on here. I have no issue with heated discourse, just go look at the MOTUC thread. I have gotten into quite a few protracted and heated discussions with some of those people and haven't blocked any of them. Some people though, you just can't talk to them. You can talk near them and they'll yell at you but that's about as far as it gets.
