I'm about to give up on getting this guy... can't find a decent deal anywhere.

Wondering if I should just wait for the winter soldier version..

I bought the Avengers Cap for the normal price but them realised i wanted another(Needed one unmasked for my Cap shelf, and also one for my Avengers display) and by then it was all sold out. So i bought a wide shouldered TTM knockoff, boots, gloves, costume and mask from Ebay sellers or in the trading post on here. I reckon that it cost me no more than $125 through judicious ebay sniping and trading deals.
I have the bootleg in my Avengers display and the original on the Cap shelf.
If you can't get one, it might be worth picking up parts and making your own if all you want is one to display.

That bootleg looks really awesome! Great job! Didn't know they made other bootleg bodies other than the ttm19 and narrow shoulder.

I knew I should have bought a spare back when they were readily available at retail. Cap was one of those that looked like he wouldn't sell out, now he's going for upwards of 4 bills on eBay.

Well, those "narrow shoulder" bootlegs are actually quite wide shouldered.
I bought a stack of them at the summer, and my civilian Thor, Loki, Coulson, Banner, and Hawkeye are all on the same body. I also used one for a TFA Cap, one for a Bruce Wayne to go with my armoury, put a custom Routh Superman on one and a custom Reeve Clark Kent on one(I can PM you pics of all the figures i have on that body.
For the Cap, the chest was too thin, so i padded that and the back with folded kitchen roll. When the suit is on, it fulfils the same role as the HT padded undergarments.

I'm thinking about selling my avengers captain america and my first avengers captain america. both figures are in great condition, but my first avengers captain america has a lot of chipping on his shield. I actually didn't even take the avengers version extra non battle damaged shield out of the box so its still perfect. I'm kind of thinking about selling the figures together because then the one messed up shield may not be as big an issue. Plus the Chris Evan HS and BD shield look amazing on the first avengers version.

What do you guys think? Should I sell them together or separately?

Sell the Avengers version to me!

@Predator1221, sell them separately, prioritize the Avengers version since the price went up for this guy recently

I was even tempted to get the Avengers Cap but convinced myself to hold off until the Winter Soldier version comes up: from the looks of it, we may get two more Captain America from that upcoming movie with a better head sculpt (I hope), can't wait!

I just sent a message to Darklord Dave to grant me access to sell on this forum. I meet all the requirements plus I've been buying and selling high end figures for over 2 years on eBay. So I don't for see any issues. once I get approval maybe we could work something out. I actually have 25 high end figures right and I'm probably going to sell most if not all of them.

I agree I should probably sell them separately. The first avengers figure still displays well even with the shield issues. Plus I don't like to sell figures in bundles because I increase my risk of being screwed by a buyer.

So anyone else experimenting with spraying the shields? Any new discoveries on this?

Mine are still in good shape but I don't know if I want to risk it and wait. Plus that Tamiya TS-79 Clear Semi-gloss seems to have done a good job. Is that the go-to stuff or did anyone find better options?

I'm a fan of the glossy shield even though it's not really accurate, but if it has a chance of chipping, I rather be safe than sorry

My cap TFA shield started flaking on the edge a bit and I used the TS-79 and so far so good. No more flaking. I do miss the shine but it does look good even being dulled down a bit.

Just caved and bought Cap to go with my MK VII Iron Man. I much prefer this outfit to the First Avenger one. Now i'm worried when i get it i'll also want Thor, Black Widow, Hulk and Hawkeye :gah:
