Right so it's been about 2 hours since my last post and I've spent that entire time setting this guy up and OMG what a pain in the arse!!!

Firstly guys when you get this figure dont you dare try and take the gauntlets off when switching out the hands because you will NEVER get them back on as Hot Toys intended!!

Secondly the cape because it's double lined basically does what it wants, from behind it looks fine, all the folds are where they're meant to be no problems but face on because of it being double lined you get inner lining bulging towards you (for want of a better term) making it look really crap. I've basically had to butcher mine to get it looking more natural by doing the Clipperking's steaming technique but by doing this it does loose those folds Hot Toys put in but at least now when I look at it I dont get that WTF is going on there feeling.

Third negative straight out of the box is like on the first figure the sleeves basically give you zero articulation, I really wanted to go with the Toy Hunters window pose with his arm out straight with his head looking down the line with the hammer kinda pointing upwards - not a chance I could pull that off, the one in the Toy Hunters display has to have been modded somehow for them to display him like that. Unfortunately what that means for me is like the first Thor figure I'm going to have to be boring and pose his arms down by his sides :(

Those issues out of the way and now he's setup he does look impressive, totally destroys the original in every possible way just sucks it's taken me over 2 hours to finally sit down and admire him.

I'll take some pics shortly :)

nice review tom, can't wait to see your pics esp what u did on the cape :)

Regarding the cape it's nothing that's that noticeable tbh (well it is compared to how mine looked straight out of the box) but you know what I mean :lol

And just so you can kinda see the difference between the old and new

Regarding the cape again if you look at the old Thor that's how the cape is meant to fall, dunno what was going on with mine for it to look so rubbish straight out of the box? One thing that the new cape does have in it's favour over the old though is it's a much nicer shade of red, my pictures really aren't showing off how deep a red it is in person :)

EDIT: The original Thor really is a POS in comparison :lol

i got my Thor a week ago.
Finally have time to upload pics..taken with my phone camera.
Figure was from Timcent on Ebay-whom i reccommend for not only fast shipping but also well packaged.

He looks wonderful, Tommy, I am sorry you had so much trouble with the cape. It really sucks to not be able to keep the pleats when you iron the cape.

I would really rather it not be lined at all, just because of that issue but unfortunately HT does not care what we want.... he really does look awesome though.

Who knows maybe it was just a problem with mine and you guys will be fine? Fingers crossed for you all :lol

So ready for Loki now :impatient:

Mine arrived too, Tommy.

I've opened to check that there's no shiny bits on the head, or the usual Hot Toys QC wonders. Not going to get to him properly until tomorrow, as it's Tomb Raider and beer night, but I plan on water treating the **** out of that cape. It'll bother me endlessly, until I do, lol

Afraid not, stole it from Balrog. He's actually be in that pose since I got him and that was like 18 months ago :lol
