The problem with V1 is that the facial hair looks pretty terrible and the lack of details makes it look almost cartoonish in comparison to the new head sculpt. I will say the shape of the eyes is better in first though.

The V1 is not cartoonish, it's just that Riddick is working with a washed out picture of the V1. The V1 is very detailed in hand.

Here is a hair repaint of Board member Steven. giunta's V1 and you can see how good the headsculpt is

Another photo from the other thread to show how good the V1 is

I feel like every thread these days is full of the same crap about accuracy issues. Is that our fault or Hot Toys, or both?!:gah:

Both i think

Increased prices from Hot Toys leads to increased scrutiny from customers to justify value & multiple figure of the same character lead to accuracy comparisons between versions.

That doesn't look like Hemsworth either! WTF is everyone so nutty about the second version, the body is way improved I don't know I guess being a huge Thor fan Im excited about this figure and happy I waited...sorry not meaning to argue with anyone.

That looks familiar.I personly like the v1 head and with the repainted hair, the hair paint was horrible in the original.it was 1 color.the sculpt itself was not bad.

That said, bring on Spiderman he is going to be figure of the year, and nobody has to worry too much about head sculpts with that one either...always remedied by putting the mask on

:exactly: I saw it inhand and tho the same. There's just not enough expression.

Yeah I would agree with that.

To others on this thread I have to say that I really want this figure to look the best it can. I was at fault last year defending the prototype Superman, it was not until I saw the changes made to it's headsculpt that I realised I was in the wrong.

Well I disagree, and certainly think it looks more like him than this prototype, I really hope they fix it.

The more I look at it, the more I think Kojun was off to a really great start and they rushed him. This sculpt is simply not a finished product....he banged out a rough sketch and as soon as he got something that just started to resemble the actor, they took it away from him :slap

Now would this have anything to do with the "Come on HT, hurry up with the full reveal whydoncha?" from the various forums. And please note that I am just as guilty of this as anyone here, so I'm not singling anyone out. Seriously, could our own impatience been a part of this?

This is not Chris Reeves, I've waited years for a figure of Reeves to come along... Superman looks likes Tom Cruise...

Who is this Chris Reeves again? Whilst I totally agree with the point of your post...Dude, the guy is dead...at least have the respect to get his name right.

Body looks good. But that's is a bad sculpt. I think the first one looks more like Hemmsworth.

Could have been. They're rushed as it is; their output is logarithmically greater than years previous.

Judging by the Hulk teaser, I'm half expecting Scarlett Widow to be two well rounded clay balls in a jumpsuit.

IMO it's just as ridiculous to presume that HT have rushed a sculpt in direct response to forum whiners as it is to presume that HT have revised a sculpt in direct response to forum whiners :dunno

I don't think the latter is ridiculous at all. Maybe not this forum specifically but if the same criticisms are held internet-wide then its very plausible HT changes sculpts in response to that.

They revised the sculpt on the first proto Thor
AND included a new accessory

im not saying it would definitely happen again
but im not terribly worried this new Thor wont see changes
