No.. and that's the real problem as I pointed out a few pages back. It's a very stiff almost ratchet joint which stresses the shoulder connector.

yeah, there wouldn't be much of an issue, imo, if they gave you specific instruction on what not to do

Well timcent has been very proactive in warning his customers. I can't say the same about sideshow, which isn't surprising. In any case mine is currently out for delivery. I'm excited and scared ****less.

I wouldn't be, it's not as if these are arriving broken. It's just not gonna do any extreme posing. Enjoy it.

this pic of instructions was posted a few pages back. Was it included in the box with spiderman?

This is the second message I've received from him. I don't have him in hand yet. The first message did not specify shoulder breakage. I guess my point is, the 2members on here are not alone. Unless they purchased from timcent and the message from timcent is a response to those 2 single cases....

I have just been on Hot Toys facebook page and this is all they talk about, even for other figures like Thor. So looks like a wide spread problem. :thud:

Yea that's true. Now I know my limits and I'll stay within them :lol

That really is too bad. They can make the toys as nice as they want but they won't look very nice with their arms dangling off their bodies. I can understand being careful with figures but they should be able to absorb some usage.

But they'll break once you try posing him, right?

If I wanted a Spidey statue, I'll get that. I can't see anyone not wanting to do dynamic poses with spider man. It's like buying a superman figure that you can't pose flying. Makes absolutely no sense.

Depends on whether you have dodgy shoulders.
.
I thought it was a joint design issue that isn't addressed in the instructions?
Meaning, if anyone raises their spideys arms out in front of them, they will break

Have you tried to raise yours?

Based on what I saw on Clipper's review, if you hold the shoulder in place, you can pose/rotate the arms where you want them. I'm not saying it's ideal but if Hot Toys would have just stated "this is how you should pose his arms" this would probably be a non-issue.

I'm sure this is going to be a widespread problem once he starts hitting more markets.

I'm going to treat mine like Catwoman's goggles, i.e. leaving him in the box. :lol

Ok mine arrived and I've handled him for a few mins. The suit is very nice. But, that's all I can come up with as a positive for the figure, so far. He's tiny. Like, as tall as catwoman tiny. The body is scrawny. My immediate thought is this looks more like a Spider-Man cosplayer, not a super hero. The Parker sculpt is very nicely done but does not look like Andrew Garfield. More like a stylized version a la the toy fairs Bruce Wayne. His small body and big head and hands just look unnatural. I'm REALLY not a picky collector and typically enjoy what's given to us but...if this wasn't Spider-Man, I'd probably feel really ****ty about the money I've spent on it. I'm 90% sure I'll grow to like him but this is my first impression.

Very hard to describe this without doing a video (I don't do video).
But this might help. I don't think this is a radically different body, or that it's anymore flawed than some of HT's recent bodies. I just had a look at the stock Captain America Spangled body, it's arms are worse than this. They are extremely stiff and ratchet joint one way but are loose up and down, try to do anything even remotely extreme and they will break.

So what I'm saying here is this..
Fragile badly made HT body is made even more fragile and breakable by the fact it's Spiderman. Or course you are gonna try and position his arms as if web slinging. HT have gotten away with it for a while now with more sedentary licenses. This could be the perfect (plastic) storm. But I don't think the body is "faulty" per se, if it was it would be broken out of the box IMO.

And no, I haven't tried to bend his arms backwards, nor do i intend to, I
didn't do that with the Medi either. Not my thing.

:lol

Treat the TT shoulder like a balljoint and it will break.

I'm still none the wiser :slap :lol

Despite his shoulder problem, i have no issues with him, his proportions seem fine in hand and in a ''hero'' museum pose he looks awesome to me no regret in getting him.

*two joints on shoulder.
*one joint (to raise arms in front) is very stiff.
*one joint (to lift arms to side) is loose.
*if you do a compound move, such as forward/up the small
Plastic L shape which connects the shoulder to body can snap.
