So ironic that I'm recovering from a torn rotator that this issue comes up with Spidey. :(

Very disappointed to read that HT refuses to address or correct this situation themselves. I applaud people like Clipper that is going out of his way to make the wrong things right! :clap

yup good for him. Its people like him that are going to push ht to address the issue.

Yeah.... No.

It's an amusing gesture, but it's basically a masturbatory exercise.

Hot Toys will be aware of the issue, and again, when the VENDORS complain, Hot Toys will listen. Complain to the vendor, let them take the complaint to hot toys.

Lol! The other thread frightens me how so many don't seem to find anything wrong with it. Thats alarming all the chiming in like some school playground gang.

From what I understand , any movement of the shoulder has resistance, going through the resistance will break it
Both clip and rhino didn't know when they broke the shoulders so I'm guessing it doesn't take much to do it

Correct.. I didn't even know when I broke mine.. The first one.. I just randomly noticed it wasn't attached anymore. So I was extra careful with the other one.. and that one failed too. VERY easy to break. You basically can't move the shoulders at all, in ANY direction.. or you risk them breaking.

I hate to say it but Lol! the video gets worse with all his cursing. No way will a company take that seriously. I can understand his rage but you can't send that to a company. He's created a video out of pure rage than a professional image.

It's nearly like watching some reality show clip that I've saw during the adverts. He sounds like he's ready to head butt somebody for looking at him or an English football fan that their team just got knocked out of the semi finals.

16 minutes plus is beyond a joke for cursing.

Oh my god at 18 minutes. Thats embarrassing! It truly is.

well like he said he's not doing it for himself, he's doing it for everyone. Clipper is the ****ing man, not like HT will understand the cursing anyways...

and theyve done nothing to deserve the politeness either, theyve basically ****ed us in the *** without so much as a curtsey spit

Preminger polite and presenting yourself professionally are not synonymous. I have no personal qualm with Clipper, other than he rambles a bit for my taste so I tend to skip through his reviews, but I'm just saying I don't expect HT to take that video seriously, partly bc I wouldn't expect them to take any fan made video seriously and partly because of the specific nature of the content of the video. I applaud his effort and passion, I just dog expect anything to arise from it.

no one is expecting them to take Clippers specific vid seriously though (they wouldn't understand any of it), its more to show that A) we're a huge community and he has a big audience and B) that we wont support being spoon fed dog ****... sure the delivery isn't the best but the emails he had previously sent were polite and curse free and look at what that got him.. :peace

I sent clipper's vid to Raymond of Hot Toys whom I've mentioned earlier. I met him at the Comic Con and he's a stand up guy. Here's the response I got:

Hi Ryan,

Our team has been notified about Amazing Spider-Man’s shoulder issue. The case is currently under review and our Customer Service team will be in touch to follow up.

In the meantime, it would be most appreciated if the spread of your friend theclipperking’s video to encourage people to send us email be minimized as the large amount of emails that we receive from people who doesn’t actually own the Spiderman figure will slow us down in following up with the affected customers.

Thank you very much for your kind understanding!

Best Regards,
Raymond

Personally I think Ric's video was necessary and did get their attention. The amount of emails they get will show how concerned people are about the figure they WILL be receiving. I advised them to make a statement and to take care of Ric's figure.. as his was pretty much the first case of the defect, and would probably go a long way if they addressed his problem and made a statement. We will see where this goes.

well at least the spamming seems to have worked... my only issue with that is they still will A) only deal with people who bought from Sideshow... and B) the replacements may just be more of the same

At least theyre aware

The thing is, you guys are assuming that HT is ok putting out a sub-par product. All it takes is for people to make them aware of the issue for them to want to correct it. HT is a company whose entire business model relies upon a high mark for excellence in artistry and production. A failure like the shoulder is issues will bother them without the nerd rage :)

I think this issue will get addressed in some fashion (probably an updated release), and I'm just surprised that at people's shock that they didn't get placated to immediately. Because again, Hot Toys is not really in the customer service business, that's what the vendor side is for.

What are the chances that they recalled or further delay this figure to fix it? I havent got mine from angolz and they are in Hongkong and should get faster shipment from HT.

True and good points... but this figure was SOOOO delayed that to have an issue like this really says to me "we dont care"...

It certainly seems that way but the more likely scenarios are that either they decided "**** it, it's worth releasing a faulty product than to delay it another 3 months and lose the market share completely to medicom" or, the shoulder issue only cropped up in the production of this run and they had already spent a crap ton of money and had 1000s of units ready to go before they found the issue. The issue could also be a design flaw, or it could be entirely the factories fault. We just don't know. It's certainly not the first time a big QC issue. Made it's way to market. We acre just more disappointed with this because of the delays along with the high standard of excellence that HT is known for.

Hmmm. They didn't offer to cover shipping.

They could have just pulled one out of the warehouse, posed it, broke it, and checked that out.

Hope they deal with this issue quickly. I've got one on pre-order with OSB. I've already asked for a cancellation and if my deposit can be transferred to another order. (Which the seller is under no obligation to do as it was a NRD).

Any interest I had in this figure died a long time ago. Now I feel if he arrives in perfect condition all I'll do is stand him museum like on a shelf and avoid touching him incase he breaks - no way for Spidey to live!

The saddest thing is, this puts me off pre-ordering HT figures.

Now I've been collecting for years. I have hundreds of figures & know that pre-order prices are always the cheapest. So if in future I wait for in hand reviews, I know I'll be priced out of a lot of figures.

Also if other people act the same as me HT are going to be hit with a massively reduced order book. Which in turn will reduce production runs and diversity of products made. (We'll just get safe bets, Iron Man, Johnny Depp, Predators)

Hot toys need to show they take QC seriously and resolve this issue at their expense and with easy recourse for ALL customers, wether they bought direct, from Sideshow, a third party dealer or eBay!

Well at least he got a response and willingness for them to look at it.

But no refund yet and doesn't appear they're covering shipping costs.

Yeah if it were me I definitely would have handled it a lot differently. I can understand being upset when you pay a lot of money for an item like this but making a long ranting video full of cursing just isn't the way to go about getting your message across and just isn't professional. Sure it garnered a response because enough people probably spammed them with it but still the same thing could have probably been accomplished by handling it in a more professional tone or just by contacting the vendor who the order was placed with and probably has more regular contact with Hot Toys. I normally do like The Clipper King's reviews and all too so no offense man but it kind of makes collectors look bad when something like that goes out. Just my opinion.
