Spiderman figure...no matter how much my wife likes the figures too!

To be fair she has not batted an eye-lid with all the other pre-orders I have on the go at the moment, as long as they are different ones.

Well then buy until she bats both eyelids.

I want to add a Spiderman to my collection so bad! I want the more traditional one from the Raimi movies, but it is going for dumb prices on ebay! So instead I may get this one and the black Spidey. I am going to see this movie again tom. and trying to talk myself into liking it! LOL I love this figure, I like the new suit especially the web shooters! I just didn't like this movie. Hope that changes tom. !

I wasn't impressed with it either. Toby Maguire or not (and I cannot stand him or Dunst) there was no need at all to reboot this until at least several more years. Pure selfishness really. I am getting tired of Marvel's similar pattern to their movies. Avengers was a really nice burst of something new and they need to change things up. Keep people stimulated by adding twists and curves like Batman movies have. They can remake Spiderman over and over again but if they can't add some new dimension to their films they aren't going to make much of an impact any more. Someone did say it correctly when they made the remark that without the Toby Maguire Spider-man, a lot of others probably wouldn't have even been made much less have succeeded.

They rereleased it because Sony has the rights to spiderman but if they don't put out a film every so many years ( I forget the amount) then the license goes to Disney whom bought out marvel.

Are you serious? Wow

Yep. That's how it goes. For example,if fox doesn't assemble a cast and crew for daredevil till this October, the rights go back to marvel.

I heard that too. I heard Marvel is trying to trick, I mean, negotiate with FOX for an extension with DD for the rights to Galactus and Silver Surfer.

Fox wouldn't let marvel get ff back. The aftermath of these negotiations was that fox will give marvel DD and keep ff.

I like the idea of a new Spider-Man that rectifies the web shooter issue, by returning it to one that Peter Parker invented, and I approve of Gwen Stacy, and Emma Stone, as well. The fact that they have a new villian in the Lizard makes this a new film, like a spider-Man 4, except I hope it is a more comic accurate Spider-Man. I am lukewarm about the new suit, though.
Frankly, I am annoyed about the use of rubber webbing added on top of the costume, masking it so 3d and complex. Would the real Peter Parker be able to make such a costume, or would he even be inclined to do so? I don't think he would have the resources. You know these suits keep getting the rubber damaged, so how could you justify making one of these for real? It's just not practical.
It's right up there with the Spider-Car toy IMO. Peter Parker couldn't afford THAT, either, much less store it.

With the new Batman armored suit, it can be plausible, because Bruce Wayne is so rich, he can more than afford an expensive costume, but not Peter Parker.

Frankly, I find it easier to believe that he could have those powers and justify the cost of the webshooters than I can believe he could have such a costume.

Another thing: What happens when his suit gets damaged? I've seen him fix it himself in the comics, but lets be honest, that takes time. Do superheroes send their damaged costumes to the Superhero costume dry cleaner and repair shop??? Perhaps that's a branch of S.H.I.E.L.D. I don't know.

People have too much praise for the previous Spider-man movies! They aren't the foundations for all Marvel films and I believe X-Men came along first, no?

The problem with Marvel is that they go for too much of the comedy / cheesy aspect and yeah, it works for some movies like the avengers, but overall it's getting tired!

I think this is where WB / DC have got it right, their movies always seem to have a much darker, realistic feel to them and it works. The new Batman's have been a huge success, but lets not forget that Batman Begins wasn't a great movie.

Everyone needs to remember that The Amazing Spider-man is the first in a new trilogy, it has to set up the story for the other movies to follow, establish characters stories etc. I don't think it was a bad movie at all and I am excited to see where they go with it in The Amazing Spider-man 2, I think that will be this reboots real test.

(Edit: as for the comment above regarding the suit, I disagree. I think the rubber effect is actually meant to be the result of screen printing as you see in the movie. As someone who screen prints myself, you can achieve a 3D rubber like effect with a thick ink. I also feel this suit is a lot more stronger than the previous so repairs would be less often. But remember it is a movie at the end of the day and are we really going to have a debate about how realistic this one is compared to the previous ones? Please!)

No, Blade did. :)

So.. Green Lantern just killed that reasoning. :lol

Right..... :monkey1

Then why even bring up what you think is stronger??

You're setting yourself up for debate. :lol

I did not consider the new 3d printing technology being used for the rubber portions. You have a point, in that it could be pretty easy. I can see how with 3d printing and simple pieces of single colored fabric that it would be easier to make a suit that way. :duff I am convinced.

Right..... :monkey1

Firstly, I meant out of the Marvel Superhero's / Mutants. Blade is in a league of it's own so I wasn't counting that.

Secondly Green Lantern is a god awful film, but then so is the comic and that's one example against how many Marvel's?

Thirdly Batman Begins comment lead into the next paragraph about how the first film of a trilogy is to set up the story. Never said BB was a bad film, it was just no DK / DKR.

Lastly I bought up the costume because the poster above was saying how it was unrealistic etc, compared to the old costume.

Im not praising Raimi at all, in fact I don't really like his work. There was an originality with the trilogy, obviously. I really wouldn't say that X-men was the breakthrough so much as the Spider-man's opening was to other individuals, since they were all very similar in story lines. The X-men in my opinion was one of the very original movies with both great writing and cast.

Why not compare them for reality? It is all for effects, we all know that. In Avengers the threat was an alien invasion to Earth, thousands of them destroying streets and cars and how many people did they actually show die? This is my point in Marvel movies, while it was a great movie, with a little more violence and death it just represents much more at stake. Gets people more involved. Bane was breaking necks killing with his bare hands. Im not trying to glorify violence when a bunch of kids will be watching but lets face it a villain just isn't a great villain unless he is a murderous psychopath.

Sorry but Captain America's cheesy line, "I could do this all day" is an example of why Marvel needs to work on the dialogue in their movies. No offense intended to fans of it, he is one of my favorite characters.

Perhaps he sends it over to the Tinkerer for repairs, just like half the Marvel U. does when their stuff gets damaged :snake
