This is going to be nothing like the Avengers Mark VI. I highly suspect it was all the people jumping on the HT bandwagon after seeing the Avengers that drove the promo up in price. The IM2 Mark VI was a way better deal but everyone wanted the clean Avengers edition instead. Now you can have a nice and clean of the MKVII instead, why would you want the battled damaged?

With that being said, I just preordered one.

Not sure why everyone is directing their anger at Sideshow.

Sideshow is a distributor for Hot Toys.

Hot Toys obviously wants to control the markets in which this thing is released. They have said as much from the beginning. It makes little sense for Sideshow to purposefully limit who they sell to. Hot Toys is the one most likely limiting this sale to the U.S. only.

As for the price, Sideshow most likely applies a standard percentage based markup on all Hot Toys figures. Who knows how much. I'd be surprised if it's even that much over 20%. Hot Toys sets the MSRP.

Getting mad a Sideshow is a serious case of misplaced anger. Be mad at Hot Toys.

But as long as people buy it anyway, it won't matter.

would rather spend my money on a Diecast Iron Patriot than this, that's how overpriced I feel it is, for the scalpers and nothing else, for the international buyers I say save you money and get the normal Mark VII and know that your getting a better figure

People aren't mad at SSC because they decided to not sell it to them. People are mad because they couldn't have notified international buyers sooner that this was being released only within the states.

I think people would have just appreciated a bit more warning. That's something Sideshow should have communicated earlier than the moment the PO went up.

I live in Australia and I pre ordered this just fine. I contacted a friend of mine from the US and he said I could have it shipped to him. then I just added a new shipping address when went to the checkout and it let me pay with my debit card that isn't linked to his address at all. So anyone with friends in the states should be able to do the same thing.

I don't have any friends here in the UK let alone in the states :( :lol

Ya, I was given false hope! I was waiting all this time :impatient:

and then I realize they weren't gonna give this to Canadians, like WHY CAN'T YOU TELL ME EARLIER!

When are Sideshow going to open up an official store in Europe? I'm tired of having to pay scalper prices from European retailers.. or importing it from Hong Kong paying huge import taxes (30% of the declared value and the shipping costs). We Europeans are really screwed when it comes to this hobby. Not only that, we don't have the special editions available here because Sideshow refuses to sell them to European retailers.. to add insult to injury.. Sideshow rewards system! :yess:

F YOU Sideshow......

but I thought the IM2 Mark VI came clean with damaged parts?

this will go for much more on Ebay, its starting price in already $100 over what the Avengers Mark VI cost to begin with and this is roughly the same production number

Was it not sideshow who baited us international customers with the email notification. Why do it, They must have known about it...:slap

Yeah, that was just dumb on their part. I doubt it was purposefully malicious. Just very very dumb.

lol it either has to be very clean or very dirty to get people's attention, nothing in between.:lol

Haven't read the last 10 pages or so....but I wonder if there is any chance they made less than 3000 of these figures (which would justify the price). I would think they would disclose that info if they had, but for it to be US only, it must me be VERY LIMITED. Unless other regions will be getting it later. :dunno
