Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

If anyone is interested, I am trying to get about 4 more people to try and make a henry cavil theseus figures from immortal. If I get five over all including my self the armor will only cost about 115$. I am currently trying to find someone to re sculpt the hair once MOS is shipped out. Only thing left would be for you to buy the body. IF you are interested PM me.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

A warning y'all. The stand 100% marks the suit. I left mine in a jesus pose for 3 days over christmas and now the sides are heavily indented. Time will tell if they go back to normal.

Someone else, I believe Guyver, said his was fine. Maybe its not every figure...

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Wonder if modders will try and make a version with metallic looking S emblem as well as slightly blue tinted linings and gauntlets. I think this figure needs it... Or, as always, it's just me.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Oh that sucks, so you mean the clips that go around his body mark the suit? Guess the other option is a crouching pose. :dunno

Yep, mine was carefully placed in the gripper, just hanging there. The edges of the gripper arms made quite strong indentations on both sides. After being out for a few hours the marks are lessened but still there.

Doubt that. Same stand same suit.

Definitely gonna go for metallic shield, needs to be sanded back a little as well. Cuffs need to be painted gun metal silver and slightly dry brushed metallic blue, then varnished.

Hmm not good, so what is at fault here? Is the gripper too strong or the suit just can't handle any gripper and thus, the suit results in being dented? :huh

Nah, the suit detailing is just pretty soft. Any pressure on it will leave a mark, it's not really a fault per say. It will probably "bounce" back after a while, but it means the stand will need a bit of extra foam padding to stop the hard edges touching the vinyl printed part of the suit.

This is a tremendously good figure though, small issues aside, it's one of the most impressive straight out of the box sets I've seen from HT.

Thanks for that! :hi5:

Looks like it will be Zod flying/jumping behind supes in my display. :lol

Hmm ok I understand, yeah it's not a deal breaker for that is for sure.

Sounds great. If you are doing it, post a step by step pics, please?

Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking that would happen.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Someone already repainted the suit to the black suit version. Looks nicely done. Wouldn't be surprised to see HT doing this with a skull covered base.

That looks awesome. I'd definitely buy a black suit version if HT made one. It's a great scene in the movie. They'd definitely have to make Zod without his armor as well to complete the scene.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

How awesome would it be if HT made a skull base from that dream sequence in MOS to go with the black suits.

They probably wouldn't do this, but it would be cool if the base of skulls was like a box with a hole in it for Superman to go into so it actually looks like he's buried in skulls. Would be cool if they did a new angry/scared headsculpt as well, but again it probably won't happen.

I personally believe in time HT would make these especially after the recent TDK armory w/bonus announcement.

Oh I think the'll definitely make it, but I'm not sure I'd expect a new sculpt or a giant base of skulls that Superman could actually go into. It would probably be like the DC Collectibles one.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

So is his figure out of scale with the rest of the HT figures, or is he just taller then the rest? Like I have a DC Direct 13" Brandon Routh Superman figure that is clearly out of scale with HT figures. It's obviously taller then the HT figures, but the body and overall proportions are also bigger and just really doesn't fit in with anything HT produces. I don't see this figure being as bad as that, but I really haven't been able to tell much from the few picture that have been posed of the Cavill Superman with other figures.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Still some of the best and most life like poses so far. Simple, yet elegant.

Any way to get that cape device to hug the shoulders better? To me that's the most glaring thing I'd like to fix.

I am so glad Hot Toys managed to fix their body for this figure. It looks just like the body on this statue. For people that think it is too skinny, would you rather a fat body or a slightly skinnier body? I would take the latter. :yess:

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I just got my "it's going to arrive soon" e-mail from Sideshow. Please, please, please let the QC on this be good. I wish I could pick these out in person instead of hoping everything goes well.
