hi any chance you ,or anyone else for that matter ,could tell me if this sculpt is smaller than the hot toys original ,and if so by how much ,pics would be great lol ,thanks in advance

Well, the Kent sculpt is in hand, but my MMS200 is under the Christmas tree. But, the present is from me, to me, so I might be able to wrangle a side by side if I'm stealthy about it. I'll see what is can do. I'll say this, my impression is that the Kent is a slight modification/cast off of the original Hot Toys sculpt. I've not had the opportunity to see them together, but I have held each separately. It was not my impression that the Kent was in any way smaller. That said, if there is a size differential and its small, it would be nearly impossible to tell without looking at them side by side. Again, I'll see if I can accommodate.

Now, i wonder if you'll indulge me. This is the second time I've been asked if the Kent is smaller. Is that the rap on this custom? Is there some reason we are thinking it is in fact off scale from the HT original..?

ok the reason i ask is this custom head ,not the same one as yours ,i know ,is considerably smaller than the original ,altho the larger head in this picture is probably the knock off hot toys head ,the custom is smaller and the ebay listing even makes reference to this fact , im transporting a man of steel outfit to a smaller body ,so he will fit in better with some of the other guys i have ,and im on the look out for a smaller Supes head to complete the figure ,true story lol ,thanks again and pictures would be great ,but dont get Santa mad at you for opening you presents early lol

I decided to open up my Man of Steel Superman early and for the price I paid I'm very happy. It's a really well done figure. No complaints at all. I do admit I feel when I pose him I'm afraid I will rip the suit but it seems durable enough to hold and unwrinkle on it's own.

Alright, so I had to get into some serious black ops and repel from my ceiling to accomplish this, but I was able to heist the Xmas tree today. Just time enough for one quick snapshot before I was in danger of giving up my position...

I think it's fair to say that this particular custom sculpt is in fact a modified cast off of the original. The matching details coming off of the light and shadow is a dead giveaway. It's difficult to line them up perfectly to get a perfect compare shot while holding with one hand and shooting with the other, but I'm not noting any scale difference whatsoever. Slight angle differences may throw things off a bit, but I think the custom looks great!

See what you think. I'll try to get some more shots up later on if possible. He looks pretty awesome in full Supes regalia while wearing the beard. Hope to share soon.

Alright guys here's some pics I took of Superman. Wasn't a lot of poses I wanted to do with this one. Really is a beast staying in a Museum Pose but posing him was definitely easy. Looking at the photos, the figure looks so life like and just like Henry Cavill. Definitely staying in the collection. Enjoy! :)

Nice pics, man!
It really is an amazing figure. Nearly perfect if not for the scale.

Too bad not a lot of people keep him. Shame.

Thanks man! Scale doesn't bug me but I definitely was taken over how big he was. Only issue I seem to have is the damn pegs come out with the hands. It's impossible to swap so I will rarely do so. I felt like I was going to break them when trying to swap them out. But overall I'm very pleased and photographs very well!

Grats man. This is one of those figures that since day 1, Ive always thought it just looked too cool.
The sculpt is one of Hot Toys best.
And for a figure that has a costume that is form fitting, Hot toys was a genius in making the physique look natural.
This easily could have looked too bulky, skinny, or toyish.

I am doing the same. I have hoped that someone would make a more in scale head sculpt. Hopefully, the maker of the bearded figure will make a clean shaven one that is in scale.

Thanks man! I agree with what you say. Definitely one of Hot Toy best. Looks so life like!

On a totally different vein, shamelessly OT and belonging on an entirely different thread.... How bad did you want Clark to kick the @$$ of that truck driver in the bar after he defended the waitress and was rewarded with the beer shower from Capt. D0ucheb@g..?

I think what he *did* was slightly un-superman-like.
I know the guy was a total d!ck.
I don't care that Clark trashed the truck.
I know the guy deserved it totally. Throwing the beer glass could have knocked a human out. He deserved to be taught a big lesson.
It makes for a great "See what Clark can do when he's angry" scene.
An idea i had(No less extreme, i'll grant you), would be for the guy to walk out to the lot and where his truck was is a cube of crushed metal where the truck was, and the logs still in the trailer.

To be fair he wasn't Superman yet....

I agree totally.
I wasn't poking holes in the movie. I love the movie, but I love to ruminate on what if ideas and generally just to talk about superman stories.
About him not being Superman yet, a lot of what makes him superman is his incredibly pure upbringing. Of course, in almost all the tellings of the story, once he develops his full powers, it only further cements his resolve to never use those powers for anything bad.
But I do like the idea that he had a few mis-steps along the way of how he got to his moral high ground.

Nicely said, UN!

This is principally why I ultimately come down on the Superman side of the Supes/Batman discussion. Superman's moral clarity is as much his "super" power as the Kryptonian blood. That said, he'll occasionally reach down a bit and use his gifts to teach someone a lesson, which is usually very fun to watch!

But I'll admit, I REALLY wanted to see Clark personally humiliate that guy, right there, in front of all his loser friends. But watching him walk away was an extremely important part of his evolution into Superman.

Agreed.
A lot of people said the "Young Clark being bullied outside the auto repairs shop" scene was a superfluous flashback but, in my mind, it is vital to show the moral compass Jonathan had installed in him. Sure, Clark *could have* hit the bully. And as he replied when Jonathan asked "did he hurt you?": "You know they can't". He cannot physically be hurt, but his feelings can. Jonathan told him, sure he could give in and hit the guy, but with his strength, he could kill the kid, and was *any amount of bullying* worth someone's life?
The answer is always no. And with Clark, who has the power to level mountains, he needs to be able to keep a lid on his anger.
