This is another example where pics do not do it any favors. It has actually looked different in many pics, including the ones that I've posted. On the shelf, in indirect lighting, it just captures Cavill the best, for me. Paint apps may not be at Hot Toys' level, but it really is fine enough on display. As I mentioned before, I would love to see one of the repaint masters have a go at this one. It can only bring out more of the actor in the sculpt.

Looks like Cavill to me. :)
And one thing I know for sure, it spanks the stock JL head. Lol.
It took me less than 30 min to plug in my extra MOS head on my JL figure. I just don?t like the stock JL head. Its also smaller so its pinheaded.
As much as I love the MOS head, I just also feel I?m doing a disservice to the JL figure by using an older sculpt.

And like I said, this kit head also looks like its a shrunken down prime1 head which I really love.
Seeing the videos of it, I?m pretty happy with what I see.

I also bought a jaxon JL head that I repainted but screwed up, literally at the finish line of painting it. Felt like it was a little glossy, and I was almost out of dull coat, so I sprayed what was left into the cap, and used a brush to apply to the face, something I?ve done before...but this time, it peeled the paint.
Lol. I almost cried. Ha ha.
So I?m gonna start from scratch again and paint it next week, and see if I like it better than the Kit head.
For me, they?re are neck and neck.
Either way, I?m excited to get the kit head to use to either the JL or MOS figure.

I?ve been debating for a while which Supes to get and I think I?m going to go for this one. I wouldn?t mind the BvS one but the brown discoloring that seems to happen turned me away from it. I think this one has the best overall proportions too. Not a fan of the massive thighs on the bvs & JL one. Will just need to find someone to do the lower cape mod once I track one of these down.

Really...? If the price is pretty much the same, i'd get the JL, cause at least it comes with 2 head sculpts.

I bought the MOS when it came out back in 2013, and didn't feel like upgrading or getting another Superman for BvS or JL. Yes the MOS is taller, but you have mod it and go through the things i showed on the last page PLUS buy a custom cape. The JL, everything is pretty much good to go apart from him being a little shorter.I dunno... its just me, but unless the MOS is over $100 cheaper, i think Justice League is the way to go.

So that head isn't just like, a mirrored JL head? Idk, haven't studied it to much of an extent but from what I saw it looked okay to me minus the wrong sided part. I've got the MOS & BvS Superman but haven't had the chance to see them in hand yet.

I did that mod to mine. I can sell you my figure if you like, and cut out the middle man.

I guess I?m the only one who doesn?t care for that Kit sculpt.

The sculpting looks fine, but the paint apps look SO soft in just about every photo I?ve seen.

Doesn?t hold a candle to the original MOS sculpt, IMHO. At least not without a complete repaint.

One Jedi Master?s opinion...

I agree...i don't understand the need to replace the original sculpt with that Kit version. Along with it's subpar paint apps the sculpt is not accurate to how Cavill appeared in the MOS...hair is parted to the wrong side...

That sculpt would be more suited for the JL version...

The sculpt is for JL.
Its just that some people are also using it to upgrade their MOS head since its an old sculpt.
Granted, nothing wrong with the MOS head as to this day, its still a nice sculpt, but still, it is an old sculpt.
Im planning to do the same.

Each to their own...but replacing a "still" excellent accurate head sculpt with an inaccurate head sculpt with subpar paint apps is no upgrade for this figure...maybe for the JL figure it is.

Me thinks some are just getting carried away on the hype of that JL rejig...But again each to their own:)

I love this figure. Every time I look at him, I feel like he is legit, serious Superman. The blue on the new one just kinda felt out of place. Glad this figure is still getting the love.

I understand what you are getting at and to be honest, I agree with you. But... the original MoS head sculpt, while an all around good one, looks less like Cavill (to me) than the Kit one. The Kit one is definitely designed for the JL figure but I don't have that version. I find this sculpt to be an update for my figure. Who knows, perhaps another sculpt is being worked on and will end up replacing this one on my figure. I've got "3" customs already! :lol

Do you think my version have a bad eyes paint? I think the pupil look too upward

Its fine. The pictures are taken with flash which can wash out colors and sometimes even almost distort the image.
Take another pic with it without flash and Im sure it will look normal.

To the guys that have had their MOS superman suit repainted, do you have links or names of someone that could repaint mine?

Thank you
Speaking of.. If anyone can help me, somewhere, not sure in this thread or another Superman thread but someone posted a picture of repainted Prime 1 Studio JL Superman head Sculpture and a link to that artist's Instagram. Believe the artist is female, located in Asia, and takes commissions. She also did repaints on dolls I believe. Been losing my mind trying to find them again lol

The repaint she did on the Prime1 Superman was fantastic!

(Sorry for the random post)

My MoS & JL Supes figs are stored away currently, but I chanced upon a loose MoS head sculpt and couldn't resist lol The MoS head sculpt is my favorite between it and the BvS/JL/ZS JL sculpt. I think it still holds up even against current figures and I imagine updated paint would make it even better.

Also, lol I noticed I had all the parts to sort of recreate the oil rig scene/ the scene where he steals clothes (I know he has a beard in those scenes :lol ). I think the Worldbox AT027 is decently adequate in having some semblance to how he looked in the film.

The MoS sculpt is definitely their best effort at Cavill's likeness. It's a shame that the suit isn't as accurate as it could/should be.

Looks great. I always liked that sculpt.
Do you have a rub on the right hand side of the nose there?(The head's right, not ours)

Agreed. MoS sculpt is the best HT Cavill Superman sculpt. Perhaps even Superman. Despite its inaccuracies, I personally think it’s the Cavill Superman that has the most shelf presence, even stock.
