I watched clipper's video, but I'm not sure if I want to remove the whole fatsuit...

Are you planning to change the body? Or just to mod it?

Changing the whole body. I bought the man of steel body and also the world box body. Not sure which one would look better. But I have noticed that with the MOS body I would have to shave the neck a tad

I didn't say take the vest off, I said can you lift it up by unbuttoning it and unzipping it, that won't screw up the stitching, but taking it off does.

I plan to take the vest off, to do a few mods to the fatsuit, etc...
but I'm not sure I understand what stitching were you guys talking about?
Where is it stitched? Or what could damage it?
(I know taking the vest off can be hard, but what stitching could be damaged is what im not sure I understand)

Ok...
If finally gone through all 729 pages here...
I've collected all the possible mods and suggestions...
Cap should arrive this weekend...
I plan to make my own variation of all the mods I've seen, using the original body...
I'll take pictures of the process... hopefully I'll look great!

It's just a crappy figure. I went through all this the time it was released and wound up selling it anyway. I still hope Hot toys reissues this figure done like the original promo.

Maybe the MOS body swap is the better option. I'm ok with the baggy suit, i just want his arms to be able to bend at the elbow and his hands to be able to go up to his head.

I thought the MOS body was too tall to use for Stealth Cap?
or it would make him out of proportion with any other MCU figures with that body...

The MoS mod is definitely the best option imo. I also gave some other mods a chance before going the MoS route. I tried bulking up the original body, I replaced it with the CW body and ruined one undershirt all for the end result to be about .... 10 % better than the stock body. Maybe I'm understating but that's how it felt to me. I did all that because when I got this figure, I didn't wanna spend so much money on the MoS body and I didn't have go through the horrors of that mod. However, caving in and doing the MoS mod in the end was one of the best decisions I ever made. No regrets whatsoever.

It is pretty tall yes, so after the mod he either has to be displayed on his own or in a way that his height isn't noticable. I got mine on a riser and that does the trick.

Sorry to hear about the SHIELD logo rubbing off. I actually had the same thing happen to mine from trying to get the undershirt on/off the body. :gah:

The articulation limitation is primarily with the undershirt, not the body/padding. If you mod the undershirt, you can get much better arm articulation (even with the padded suit). I've gotten the elbows to bend to about 45 degrees, but because of the sleeve material, the elbows will naturally revert back to 90 degrees.

I can maybe try to take some pictures later this week, if that would help.

Also, I'm pretty sure this has been posted before, but this is the video I studied for all the suit modifications I made to my figure. I ended up putting the padded suit back, but the undershirt mods helped immensely. If you care more about the articulation rather than how bulky the chest looks (and even if you don't), I highly recommend this.

Also looked into switching the body lately. I am really no fan of the MOS body. The height difference is just too much for me... I am now thinking about trying the Ganghood 1.0. Anybody tried that?

Edit: of course this would mean I'd habe to cut the neck off of Caps head...

Is the set or just the Stealth Srike Suit Cap still available at any online retailers anymore? The prices on eBay aren't bad but there aren't many available. Just curious. I missed out and have always kept an eye out for Stealth Cap.

with all the talk of modding, this 2 figures arent very good, I take it? would it be worth buying at retail?

Last place I knew was BBTS but gone now. TWS Falcon too. IMO if u can get Stealth at good price I would grab if u can. Just coz I check 'bay now and then for deals and can't believe the markups I see at least for some figs. Even used. Tho do think it's true HT will milk license for years.

I should squeeze out another order for a 10 year Cap, sell later and I will be rich:monkey3

Re chengda's comment on modding, IMO this is beautiful set. Paid retail for mine. Picked up 3rd party outfit and shoes for Steve that match highway fight. Others have modded Cap re uniform fit. Depends on what bothers you. IMO the chest is flattened re material but didn't bother me. I left Cap as is. I wasn't unhappy paying retail.

I've always wanted to love this toy, but it's my black sheep of my collection. I just cannot get him to pose outside of just standing there arms to the side. What were they thinking when they released it like this? So disappointing. I've been tempted to sell it off but I like the Steve Rodgers figure (bought the two-pack) and I don't want to get rid of him. Damn.

I love the stealth suit Cap with the Steve Rogers head sculpt. I'm fine with the poseability cause I just have him in a museum pose holding his helmet looking heroic. I did stuff some cotton balls down his shirt to make his chest puff out a bit.
