Hot Toys MMS243 - 1/6th scale Captain America & Steve Rogers

Swapped the original body for the infinity war body. Also padded the chest a little, removed the fat suit and cut the rubber undershirt to let the arms sit more naturally. The suit is superbly thick especially around the arms so doesn’t show off the shoulders as good as they can be but still stands staller and fits in better with AOU cap and Concept Art cap. Be great to taper in the waist a little more will look into it. Feels like a new figure!

1)Nick Fury has an empty pistol
2)Winter Soldier has what looks like a mix of Mk XL and Mk XLI parts for his left arm.

Yep nick blew his load when he saw the body upgrade ;o)

Winter soldier is a simple bash of snake eyes, bucky barns headsculpt and an iron man bones arm repainted. It just looks better to me, it cost a bit more than a normal figure but no one else has one so feels a bit more special to me.

No it wasn’t damaged but it was a pain tbh lots of shuffling around and moments where I felt I was going to break something but after 10-15 minutes it came off.

That’s an awesome TWS display. I used to have all TWS figures, but I sold a lot of them and decided to keep mine very minimalistic with just WS, SS Cap, and BW. I then further merged those with CW Cap and Mk46.

Whoah, not me. Tho in no way do I mean that negatively. IMO collecting and maintaining a collection is a very personal thing. LOL last year I was grabbing up Ultron and older figs and had to do some thinking about where I was going with it all...friggin' boxes

And I trashed a room, moved some stuff around, and assembled some display cases...

And then the overturning of the MCU really hit home and I look around at my figs and feel like grabbing them in a big greedy hug

Coz for me, having a *&^% ton of Cap and Bucky (esp. TWS figs), Nat and Wanda, Falcon with those wings, my newest Ultron Mark 1 (two), DS #1 and various misc. is just friggin' awesome. Like having moments frozen in time in 3D from fav movies. For however long they hold up.

I think I can squeeze in some EG figs tho.

I did because I collect from other franchises as well, and I’m also getting burned out on the MCU. Some of the characters I had, I felt I just didn’t need to have and were just shelf warmers.

While I continue to debate with myself over getting the IW Cap, I had another look at this version from what is still my favorite MCU movie...I know a lot of folks have issues with this figure, but I still dig it just as it is...

I bought the 2 pack and am very happy with it.

I have a bunch of Cap figures:

First Avenger
Avengers
Age of Ultron
Civil War 2-Pack

It’s not perfect, but I think it looks great.

Honestly, I would be content with the Stealth Cap outfit using the more recent psychique. Only Cap I would need. Promo pics on this were perfect to me, in hand it just looks off somehow.

If it's your favorite movie you should get it but not at $300. Nowadays there isn't much option as there is no escaping the price gouging on past releases. Like anything Hot Toys release, it has room to improve. I missed any customs with the newer Cap bodies. Referring to either CW or Infinity War cap bodies specifically.

It's a fine figure but you can't pose him if you want to keep it unaltered. Also changing the body is not for the faint of heart. The Rogers and Shield logo decals can wear and the zipper is delicate. In hindsight I would have left it alone. It would have meant that his arms stay down by his sides.

The figure isn't bad, it's a combination of the tailoring and the body working together. If the suit fitted better you'll have a better look. It's primarily the chest and shoulders that look strange.

What would have made this figure amazing would have been magnetic back and gauntlets. Yes, there are the straps in the shield.

Having the figure be able to hold and maintain the arms high. With the weight of the metal shield it's not possible unless you have assistance of fishing lines.

It's hard to pose with the restrictive suit, but it displays well and the looks pretty distinctive. If you like the movie and the character, go it. Is it $300 for just the Stealth version or for the set with the Steve Rogers?



If it's both, than I'd say yes...if just the single, maybe shop around a bit...

$300 is steep for just the single Stealth Cap figure. I'd recommend shopping around a bit more, but at the end of the day, if it's your favorite look (and you can afford it), then go for it. Just do your research so you know what you're getting/not getting with the figure out of the box (limited torso articulation, subpar tailoring, no unmasked head). I loved the look enough that I got the figure knowing that I'd need to do a bunch of mods to be happy with it (and despite breaking my "no duplicate characters" rule).

I recently swapped the stock body for the IW Cap body and wasn't really impressed with how much different it was, especially since the neck is too short for the IW body. I decided to pad the deltoids a bit, and I'm loving the new body now that the shoulders have some more definition. I think it hits a nice balance with some of the bulk of the MoS body while also fitting the suit's natural tailoring. I'm still annoyed that the head needs to sit loose on the neck peg, but it's never gonna be perfect, and I'm happy with how it is now (no more tinkering).

Looks off a bit. Has that boxy torso look and not the v-taper Cap is known for.

Yeah I'm really hoping HT decides to revisit all the old Cap figures someday, the same way they are with IM, because I'd love to see them all done with much better outfits, sculpts, and proportions.

And this is the one I'd probably most like to see improved.

I was so disappointed with this figure for so long. I finally tried to do some mods and I am now happy with it. I am using the stock body but I cut the sides of the fat suit off below the chest and put that padding in the shoulders. I also put a plastic spoon over his chest to add some bulk there. His torso now has a better V shape and his shoulders look a lot better. I am pretty happy with it now.

You people act like you can't modify it. It's his body shape that is making the figure look off. Not that hard.
