Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

Going with the toyetic, and a specific scene re-creation argument, what is the point of a Demon Bats / Scarecrow figure two pack WITHOUT including an unmasked Crane head?? The only time Crane sees "Demon" Batman...heck, the only time it's even possible for him to hallucinate Demon Batman...is when his mask and built in gas mask are removed from his face.

I don't really play with my Hot Toys "action" figures either. But I do pose them so that they mimic or remind me of something of their appearance in a film scene.

-Reeve Superman was hovering above the Fortress base for a while, I just recently shifted him to standing with his hands on his hips.

-DX12 Batman has the Bruce Wayne head on, is wearing the backpack, and holding a cowl in one hand and the sticky bomb gun in the other in recreation of the Hong Kong Scene.

-TDK V1 is on the Batpod with his cape billowing behind him, facing off against V1 Joker (with Bankrobber non-slick hair headsculpt)

-Original Suit Begins Batman is wearing the ToyFair exclusive cowl with an angry faceplate and fists and stance in a fighting pose.

-Bank Robber Joker is standing there with his mask, duffle bag and pistol, ready to terrorize some unseen teller, bank manager or fellow robber.

-Toyfair Begins Batman is wearing the Bruce Wayne head and his first night out gear.

-DX11 Joker and Swat Gordon are boxed up for now, but I'm planning on posing them in the "got you, you sonuva*****" scene shortly.

-Keaton Batman is...uh...just kinda standing there waiting for his car to arrive.

There is no pose for Demon Bats that make sense, without an unmasked Crane in his grip. If they weren't/couldn't go all the way with a Cillian Murphy headsculpt for whatever reason (likeness rights or whatever) they shouldn't have even bothered with that set.

I can hear you, but I think as a quite limited set they supposed it would sell anyhow or even especially in this way as most collectors wouldn't recognize
and they both look pretty badass.
Doesn't bother me to much as I still like them as great "stand alone" figures and have no concrete plans on making a diorama for them.

Same here:

For me these new age realistic figures are a lot about movie art and the fascination that it's possible to make these in 1/6
and it's nice to have many options for different scene specific setups, also in dioramas.

Of course it's nice to have the action figures with suitable action accessoiries but not only action is interesting imo,
so other charcters can be intersting as well, also without the necessity of action accessories.

I don't wanna play with them but pose them in interesting setups.

But I respect everybody's opinion who wants "action" figures only.

lol, some people (like Mike86) don't seem to understand that there are two very different statements:

A) I would like a Fox/Alfred/Crane action figure

B) There's no reason Hot Toys shouldn't make a Fox/Alfred/Crane action figure (the corollaries being "thus, the fact that they aren't doesn't make sense" or "I'm sure they'll make them at some point"). A statement like "They make Agent Coulson, so I don't see why they don't make Alfred" is in this category of statements.

The fact is that A and B are not equivalent statements.

I personally would love a Hot Toys Alfred, a Fox, a Crane, and so on (and I have customs that I would gladly replace with official versions). But I also have common sense and realize that it's not going to happen, and I realize WHY it's not going to happen. That's what my responses have been addressing.

To those who don't get it, I would suggest reading statements A and B above, and trying to discern what's different about them. Stating one is not stating the other - arguing against one is not arguing against the other.

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

I don't think we'll see a John Blake figure now. I hope we'll see commissioner Gordon and Ra's but as time goes on Im not so sure about that either. I personally would like to see Talia, she would look cool standing with Bane.

But honestly, do we even need a discussion about why they aren't making a Michael Caine Alfred?

I think we may still see Com. Gordan and Blake. I think over the next year or 2, HT will make a few more figures from the trilogy. Plus, those 2 were mentioned as being possibilities about 6 months ago by Howard. As far as Ra's, I as others here have stated there must be an issue with making this figure. What, who knows.

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

I hope the issue with Ra's is just with Hot Toys and not with any kind of rights. They could never be sorted out.

As for possible Hot Toys issues. Possible not sure what to put him in. Ninja or the destroying of Gotham outfit. Unlikely but who really knows. I personally would prefer the suit in the end with the gas mask and a sword. Maybe a DX like DX 01 with another head and outfit without the body.

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

I would love a commissioner Gordon in his more common attire. Once that comes along I would consider Blake.

I understand the difference, I was simply making an analogy how hard is it to understand? So it's reasonable to think that one less "toyetic" character can be made but not another apparently? You're making it seem like I'm saying that because I happen to want it that it should or will happen which isn't what I'm saying. I'm merely saying that I want it and am making a comparison to what I consider a minor character that was made and that since that particular character was made that maybe the door is open to the possibility of other more minor characters. Not sure what the issue with me having a want is. Yes I realize there's a difference between what I want to happen and what will happen but frankly you're just being overly rude and trying to spin my words.

It seems like you think that just because in your opinion this one normally less "toyetic" figure (Coulson) is popular (which he is but how much so is debatable if you ask me) that he warrants being made but others don't. I think it's just as reasonable to think that a lot of people didn't care too much to own him which is why he was a more limited figure to Sideshow. I don't see how this couldn't apply to other characters from films who have a large fanbase but may not be wide sellers. I'm not trying to claim to be right or wrong but I just don't see how the line is so crystal clear on how popular a character is versus another. I'm tired of arguing about this crap though so whatever, if it happens it happens if not I'll live without it. I was merely stating a wish/want and people jump down my throat about it, cripes.

Man, we've got more than 35,000 views on this thread already, with nothing more we know from Hot Toys than this:

Bottom left corner it says BLAKE. Will we see a figure of him???

Seems like we'll get this. :yess:

COME ON Hot Toys, finally show us something! :panic: :lol

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

I'd much rather see a Ra's or Ninja Bruce before Blake.

And I would too.

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

Blake would be last on my list and that's if I would buy him.
Rash
Alfred
Bruce Wayne
New scarecrow with head sculpt
And then maybe Blake

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

My custom will do for now. The Eleven sculpts are really not that bad, pretty good if I must say. Especially for the price you can get them at. If they do make blake ill just change out the head sculpt lol! But I agree a Ras is way past due! May be something with Liam not giving permission for use.

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

Hot toys has enough problems right now addressing the multiple 89 batmobiles either going their way or refends from retailers..

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

Mark OSR's latest interview with Howard has confirmed that they will be making blake soon, and no news regarding another Gordon or Ra's yet.

Re: Hot Toys The Dark Knight Rises - Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Detective John Blake ??

They said NO plans for Gordon.
