Sideshow usually send an email when they charge for an order, but I've received nothing yet.

Checked my credit card and confirmed that the money that went out on the 4th was for the Spacetrooper.

But his status is still "Shipping Soon".

:impatient:

Maybe temp bank hold to make sure you have the money? If you use Flex Pay, I don't know -- that junk is so disorganized its ridiculous.

It's full payment as always.

The money's been taken from the card as per the schedule they outlined in the emails.

27th October:

Your pre-order of the Spacetrooper - Episode IV: A New Hope - Sixth Scale Figure (Hot Toys) (902381) will be arriving into our U.S. warehouse in approximately 8 days at which time we will charge your card for the item. Please review your shipping address and payment information (shown below) at this time to be sure they are correct before (approximately) Wednesday, November 4, 2015.

2nd November:

We will begin processing all orders for Spacetrooper - Episode IV: A New Hope - Sixth Scale Figure (Hot Toys) (902381) on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. We ask that you have the funds available on your credit card by this date to ensure the successful processing and shipment of your order.

Maybe they forgot to tell the charging department there was a delay?

Okay, so the Spacetrooper is out for delivery, and due to arrive 12th November.

SS sent him from Hong Kong by UPS.

Probably going to cost more money now because I don't have an account with UPS and they'll likely have an admin charge for collecting customs. :gah:

Open an account right now.

I'm trying to open a billing account. At first it was asking me for my 6-digit account number, which you can only find from your invoice. But, of course, I haven't received one yet.

I did manage to add a credit card into the section headed 'Non-Account Payment Card Details', though I don't know whether that's good enough.

Sent an email early this morning, so hope to get some help from them.

Will this help reducing UPS shipping costs or something? Asking because my Spacetrooper should be processed soon

It works with FedEx, so I'm hoping it works with UPS. Otherwise deliveries are just going to be more expensive. :(

(I read that UPS charge £12 for handling customs fees).

I've had a lot of ups packages from sideshow (han and chewie, obi wan) and I have literally paid maybe a 5th of what I should in terms of customs, vat etc. It is certainly a lot cheaper than going with fed ex where you always get stung. Only difference is fed ex you pay after receiving buy ups you pay on the door/before they give you the package. I think I paid £24 for han and chewie - should have been around 90 taking into account fed ex admin

This sounds interesting...

Maybe it's not bad news after all!

I wonder why they're so different, if SS supply both with the same prices?

I'm thinking it's more to do with the ones who fill the forms out. From my experience on ebay asian sellers seem to mark items down or classify them differently e.g. collectables, toys, etc. I think that makes a difference....but yeah certainly I like paying less to the British government haha

Its also good news for the 1/4 boba I have coming as I would have been rinsed on that!

I hadn't considered that. It's down to whoever it is in Hong Kong arranging the shipments. :)

Is now SSC shipping through UPS? Or can you choose between these carriers, UPS instead of FedEx? Because the 3-4 times I got items directly from SSC they were shipped through FedEx and they managed to damage my SSC ANH Vader long ago. I hate FedEx: greedy and expensive, don't care at all about your packages, and their customs office is 500 km from my city - with USPS the packages are opened by customs in front of me not at 500 km away where they can do whatever they want and then even repack it badly.

I beleive that any hot toys stuff is ups and sideshow is FedEx. Luckily because of recent sideshow shenanigans I've not got much on order (c3po and tie pilot). The fed ex near me are very helpful but as you say prices are ridiculous - 20% customs fee plus admin over here. I'm surprised no one else has had ups delivery yet or is it because not all hot toys orders have been fulfilled yet (some people have han, chewie etc and some are still waiting)

It seems I cannot make a personal account on UPS, only business, which is not my case :dunno

They don't make it easy. I'm waiting for a second reply. At the moment I've added a credit card to the Non-Account Payment section. Not sure if that's good enough. :dunno

As for the delivery itself, tracking says it should be delivered on schedule this Thursday, but it hasn't moved past the 'Origin Scan' yet in Hong Kong. Waiting for the right flight I suppose.

Had the same issue with Fedex France. Unable to open an account as i am not a business. I could have opened one as an individual but it involved a subscription to their shipping services... which i dont really have a need for.
UPS France are a totally different beast. Only had one parcel delivered yet and had to pay upon delivery (about half what Fedex use to charge) while other collectors got charged upon delivery and received a second invoice by mail. Go figure :dunno
