Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

I'm probably going to drop the other SW figure. Only need so many in the collection.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

I already have the first AoU one on PO, which I'm still going to keep being that was her outfit for 97% of AoU. I'll most likely get this figure also being that I really like the outfit and then simply forego the CW one, if they make one.

It was much lower than 97%, maybe closer to 50%. She had at least three different variations of red/black outfits, excluding the New Avengers outfit here. There were also her Wakanda (black jacket, red top) and Seoul outfits (black top, red shawl), though I'm drawing a black on what her first Sokovia outfit looked like. The main red jacket outfit didn't show up until they were heading back to Sokovia for the big battle (someone correct me if I'm wrong here... I just remember Pietro grabbing the jacket and throwing it to Wanda on the Quinjet). But Marvel plastered the costume all over the promotional material, so it was undeniably the primary costume they wanted to associate with her.

Just a nitpick. :lecture

One thing we can be sure... there is always some Red.. :lecture

With all these figures on display at the show when do you think we'll see PO's for them all?
I know the movies are a few months away but I'd like to see them sooner rather than later.

Another thing I like about this one more.. the exposed legs (and lessor degree arms) on the 'civilian' outfit just don't quite sit right with me. Too "doll like". I noticed that when I got my Widow. The women figures are just so doll like and skinny compared to the men. I know these aren't exactly beefy women in the movies, but no woman (unless she is a former Ally McBeal star married to Han Solo) has arms and legs that thin.. The costumed version just sort of bulks the figure out a bit more..

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

yeah it doesn't look like this version comes with much and yet i get the feeling it will cost more or even the same as the other one. Its too bad this was used in such a short scene.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

Pass. I already have the first release mostly paid off and the skirt adds a different dynamic to the figure that none of the others in my collection have.

I've been saying this about Hot Toys female figures forever--the arms and legs are too long and thin, especially in the forearms and calves. It makes them look like dolls, whereas the male figures tend to have more human-like (i.e., a male actor who worked with a personal trainer to get extremely muscular) proportions. If Hot Toys doesn't revamp their female body for Wonder Woman the figure could look awful.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

Second release to me is far superior. The jacket and the pants make the outfit and give the figure an overall better look.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

^^^ Yeah the outifit for this one is more unique than the normal look, adds more of her comic look instead of an emo teenager look. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

She wears a similar outfit that looks a lot like it in Civil War, but it's not specifically this one. This one is from the end of Age of Ultron and is much better than the version the costume that will appear in Civil War.

Think about the differences in the way you might between Cap's AOU costume and his Civil War costume - very similar, but not exactly the same at all.

I'm aware that the Civil War outfit we've seen in the trailer is similar but not specifically this one. I was simply pointing out that as we've only seen 2-3 minutes of the movie so far, it's possible this version appears as well. But I grant you that 2 different outfits so similar in appearance is unlikely, unless she's involved in multiple battles and this version gets trashed early on.

I prefer the one that's already up for pre-order so will stick with that one. This one isn't bad either though.

I hate those high-heeled boots HT gives almost all their female figures....

Are they not what they wore in the movies? Is this really Hot Toys choice or the film makers?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AoU - Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version) Figure

This is gonna me my definitive SW version, I think. Looks so much better than the simple CW version, and you can always pick up the "magic effects" on the after market if necessary.

Ah, good eye. Despite how many times I've seen AoU, that's something I haven't noticed.
