There seem to be a lot of inaccuracies in this figure that people are just glazing over. Theyll just chalk it up as nitpicking, when the whole point of these things is to be accurate. They're far too expensive to accept anything less. I guess that's the power of a dynamic head sculpt with fairly good likeness.
Exactly, thank you for listening. But don't get me wrong, I love the figure and can't wait for mine to arrive. It's just hard to ignore the more blatant botched paint app on her lovely Adidas high heel sneakers. Look at Deanknights review....cmon people, everyone knows how important shoes have to look on a girl.
Especially her shoes....they are her signature heels and unique to her entire look. They got to be on point like her makeup and hair.

Hot Toys has taken some shortcuts on shoes and boots lately. Cost-cutting. :slap

You can nitpick every figure HT has ever put out, perfection is just about impossible to achieve. The BvS Batman was figure of the year on here last year and even with that they clearly made the grey in his suit too dark judging by 90% of pics and movie stills you see.

Colour is especially difficult to get right as it's often subjective. Do they go by the colours from on set pics or how they appear in the movie after filters and whatever else have been added. The colours vary a lot scene to scene also. Christopher Reeve's Superman suit looks different scene to scene for example, so which do they go for?

I'm pretty happy with the Job HT have done on her clothing. The damage to her t-shirt isn't entirely screen accurate but it doesn't bother me. The boots are the worst part about this figure no doubt. Close up the paint job is pretty amateur looking. The tuxedo Joker also has cheap looking sculpted shoes. Compared to how well they did Batman's footwear, both regular and armoured, it's quite a step down. From regular viewing distance you don't really notice but nonetheless hopefully something HT address for future releases.

Thank you! Appreciate your kind comment. I use a Nikon D7200 and a 40mm macro lens :duff

:duff Thanks. Just googled, that ain't cheap! Next year will be pretty busy with JL figures. But only one DC movie releasing in 2018 maybe 2019 will allow me to take a step back and invest the money in a similar camera....unless other figures take my eye. :lol This hobby is so addictive damn it!

To those of you who have this in hand already. How is it in person? I'm in the process of doing a straight trade for this figure for my custom Rooted Thor figure. I'm wondering if it's worth it or not? Here's a pic for reference. View attachment 350313

ill just give u the money to buy her let me have that thor lol its one of my favorites!

Generally speaking people either go to far to the extreme of attacking or defending Hot Toys, which makes both sides of the argument look bad.

If I had to choose I think I prefer the overly critical side of things to the "Hot Toys is perfect and anyone who says otherwise is a moron" camp purely because it makes you think about what isn't right, what things you yourself can fix, and what needs to be improved in the future. It helps you recognise what is and isn't a good quality release too.

For this figure it seems that the headsculpt is great but nearly everything else about it has some issue.

There's no such thing as a perfect figure. Never has been and never will be. There are faults with every figure and the harder someone looks the more they'll find. This head sculpt is truly stunning, no doubt about it. Yeah you can pick at the boots but everything else within the set is great. As has been mentioned before colours will not match or be screen perfect. Ain't happening. So yes, critique by all means, you can make improvements in some cases but nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking in the excess is just annoying and it happens both on here and in the FB groups. And also when it's done with an 'I know better' attitude. Nothing more annoying. If there are too many faults for you, leave it, don't buy it and move on. If you think you can mod it and improve on it, brilliant, get on it and show us what you can do. And if there are those who can enjoy it as it is, then let them be.

I think its the use of extremely condescending language and swearing that does it in. Also the words lazy, cheap etc. are always particularly unfair, especially when you understand/consider the design and production process of things.

:exactly: I don't think I've ever seen anyone say Hot Toys are perfect. Constructive criticism is always a good thing, I'm sure HT and all companies use it to keep innovating and improving their products. With the vast majority of their figures the good far outweighs the bad in my opinion. This figure is no exception to that. If it was that easy to make a perfect figure it would have been done already.

Well I'm about to find out for myself. This together with the first Ant-Man get the award for Best Box. ;)

There's nothing wrong with praising what someone does right and criticizing what they don't.

If we just meekly applaud everyone or everything... nothing would ever truly evolve. Sure, you'd still have some innovation, but there wouldn't be that drive behind it. The kind of drive that makes people want to prove themselves to the world or otherwise.

I see a lot of slamming going on in the Wonder Woman thread. I think they did an amazing job on the body and the outfit and the hair. I do think they needed to take more time and further retool the headsculpt, but it is what it is.

Harley has fallen into an opposite dilemma. She has a meager presentation pretty much from the waist down. Her shorts are not tailored like the ones on film and her boots are pretty lacking. Not even going to mention the knees again.

The head, though, is brilliant. They. Nailed. It.

Well like you said. It is what it is. You're preaching to the choir.
