I agree but marking low value as a gift doesn't always work. I just got a DX08 via that route and it's been stuck in customs nearly a week now.

Did u order from timcent?
He always puts 2 receipts inside the actual packaging for $20 as well as marking it as a gift.
So even if it got checked u should be alright.
Iv bought loads from him and never been hit with any charges.
Sometimes customs holds them longer than normal due to backlogs, Bank holidays etc

Is that because of duty fees? I hear ya though. Regardless, I think so long as you get it from a reputable seller, you're good. From what I've heard, Timcents track record for customer service is good. So that's enough to put me at ease going through eBay.

Yeah custom fees are brutal-roughly £50 for a $240 figure & ss charges $40 dollars for shipping so that's it up at £260 at least. Making it more expensive than buying direct from Hong Kong&
U can get it within a wk of release.

Not Timcent but from Hong Kong and. marked as a $20 gift. Tracking says held by customs and any fees will be notified to the addresse. I'm guessing the bigger DX box didn't help my cause.

Never had this happen before so just saying even if 99% get through, the odd one will get picked up. Worth the risk IMO but no guarantee.

So i guess custom officers in your country do not google products they are not sure about, right? :lol Lucky.

For sure - if I were to buy from Sideshow the price is it for let's say a $210 piece is about £180 or so which isn't too bad, these were the prices I were paying for my Thor AoU and Cap AoU back a couple years ago from the UK retailers, but then adding on the $40 shipping and the £50 import fees brings most items to £270 or so. And as I'm only just finding out now, I may as well get the item quicker and for the same price form people like Timcent than going through UK retailers who don't offer any rewards points or great things US customers get. It sucks being a collector in the UK as these are really pricey items just due to the postage and fees mainly, if we were just paying for the actual item it wouldn't be so bad, by the time you buy two figures you'd have saved on fees and postage to get another one.

To be fair it wouldn't work that way anyway, because it's bought on Ebay, unless they ask for proof of expense from Ebay, if a seller is marking what they're selling as being only $20 then even if it retails for 300 it wouldn't factor into it I'm pretty sure as this is the value the seller has marked it for.

Your right mate
The fact it's marked as a gift as well

I see what you mean now. For me, I really don't mind the wait on my preorders or potential Hot Toys purchases. It gives me a chance to anticipate complications or if the final product isn't as good as the prototype. And I usually preorder my Hot Toys through BBTS and cancelling a preorder with them is easy since they don't require the non refundable deposit. So to that end, not getting your Hot Toys as quickly as you'd like could work in your favor.

But if you've got something that's a must buy, luckily sellers like Timcent have good customer service.

Obviously flash highlights it to an extent but you can see how much of a lighter grey it is.
Was going to put beside my just arrived sideshow version of the same figure but think il sell it boxed fresh

So the sideshow batch we got much darker than the hk release, plus it seems like he has lost weight

do you have a flash photo of your BVS Version? or a side by side 1st and 2nd batch with flash?

The suit color is all due to lighting. This is mine from SS I received last weekend.

Mines definitely lighter, it's fairly obvious with and without flash.
I had multiples of the bvs version and they had different contrasting suits but the ss version is miles apart

Darker or not, ss still looks a tab lighter in color than bvs plus ss suit has the gold-ish/yellow-ish tint.

I dont have BVS in hand any more but i opened my SS Batman yesterday and he is darker than the BVS version, mine is undisputedly black. Infact, with flash on he is almost purple/blue. Just looks pure black to the naked eye but zoomed in with flash he is kinda bluey purple.
