1/6 Hot Toys - MMS409 - Suicide Squad - Batman (Rebreather Version) Collectible Figure

I hate to rain on the parade because this release is definitely good news for people who missed out on the first release...which is a good thing. With that said I think with this release Hot Toys has finally jumped the shark...I am reminded of Blu Ray releases where you have multiple store exclusives with different bonus material that would require that you buy six different copies of the same movie from six different stores just to get a complete set of bonus features. Ridiculous right? Or the 90's when every new issue number 1 from Marvel comics would have 12 different covers. I feel like there was a time when Hot Toys would have released a Batman figure with all of the features of both for the price of one...now you can buy two $200 plus figures or stalk EBay for accessories. How many identical Batman, Ironman, etc figures does one really need...?

Hot Toys has been doing this for years and they are still selling a lot of figures. I hate that prices keep going up, but profit or greed, HT is here to make money.

Yep...I can't be angry with them because they are after all a business and have every right to pursue any strategy that they feel will result in profits for them. I only feel disappointment that my ever growing wish list of imaginary action figures of Hot Toys quality will continue to go unmade as Hot Toys becomes the "Super Hero Variant" factory...oh well I will just keep rooting for companies like Blitzway and Enterbay...maybe they can keep trucking along and fill the void...

Any one have an idea of when SS updates their site for POs? I will lose my mind if I miss out on this again...

Do you get email updates from SS? I usually get them sometime in the afternoons EST for new POs. Just keep checking SS's site, I have a feeling this will go up for PO tomorrow or Tuesday.

Emails sometimes come hours (or not at all) after it goes up for PO. I would just keep checking SSC tomorrow or on here as people will jump on and say it's up.

Not sure what to do. I thought BVS was horrible and Suicide Squad I liked but...enough to buy an Affleck Batman who so far hasn't even proven to me that he's good enough to wear this suit? Just not sure. On the other hand, I think the costume and figure itself are gorgeous and I'm cautiously optimistic I'll like him a lot more in Justice League....but I don't like either JL suit. I had been contemplating getting Deadshot. Might be something I could pair him with. All of this and a feeling of "wrongness" because I didn't get a Bale Batman before this one came up(bale is my favorite batman) because I got into the hot toys game after he had sold out(well sort of. I could've bought the armory but it's outside my price range really).

If I want him, I should just preorder him from sideshow and cancel if I change my mind huh? This is one of THOSE, isn't it?

Firstly - Affleck hasn't proved himself... that's a laughable statement... he's portrayed Bruce and Batman on screen better in 1 scene alone than any of his predecessors!

And secondly the highlighted (second) bit is all that matters – if you love the figure and suit, buy it!

Anybody who like Bale better than Affleck deserves no Batman figure at all

I prefer Affleck's Bat but let's not diss Bale either. He was fantastic.

Bale is the better actor, by a pretty wide margin. And of course, was in films that were magnificent. Affleck was in terrible movies, but is a very solid actor overall, and better captures the essence of comic Batman. I can't critique either preference.

Uhm, so you guys prefer the Batman who's basically a deranged psychopath over Bale? Don't get me wrong I liked Affleck in BvS but he wasn't exactly the real Batman/Bruce Wayne. Just my opinion though.

EDIT:

What I mean is is that the Bruce Wayne portrayed in that film wasn't or didn't really feel like Wayne.
