Imagine the merchandise Disney could have sold with a heroic Luke, Han, leia, and if they had heroic offspring.
It's up there with one of the bizarre decisions ever taken, just a few minutes as in The Mandalorian was all they needed to do with some training of Rey.

What are you talking about?? :cuckoo:

Rey, Finn & Poe sold truck loads of merch!!! They're the new fan favs according to Kennedy..

:rotfl

You know I was just thinking about this - when Lucas was driving the truck, we would see the new character or look in all the new merch. You didn't see much of Han/Leia/Luke cause they were all controversial and depressive characters. Great to see badass Luke doing what should've been done. I bet she loses sleep over what The Mandalorian has done compared to all the garbage she has pushed. Amazing the damage one person can do and still keep their job!

She had to fulfil the same capacity she did over the sequels as she does over The Mandalorian. Anything else is conjecture really.

Amazing the lengths people will reach to criticise her while also going those same lengths to turn a blind-eye to her achievements.

What achievements?? Pre SW she was a lackey to Hollywood's elite. Then, she was basically put in charge of the most popular IP in the entertainment industry and tasked to make a new movie people were clamoring for for 10 years. One of the original writers were brought on as well as the original cast. No matter who was in charge, it would've been a huge success. After it was a success (box office wise), she decided to put her own stamp and politics on it, thus leading to where we are today. Proving her incompetence merely by the final movie in a 9 part trilogy spanning 42 years was the least successful movie at both the box office and on the merchandising front (Star Wars' true bread and butter). Anticipation for TROS should've been just as high, if not higher than TFA was. Instead it took someone else with a TV show who had complete control over it's direction to bring back excitement to the Star Wars franchise. Then immediately after Star wars once again achieved it's popular status, her project, The High Republic, is yet another failure.

Ah, so the success of the Mandalorian is because of Favreau and Filoni (but not Kennedy), but the failure of Rise of Skywalker is due to Kennedy (and not Abrams and Terrio.) Got it.

Yes. Favreau and Filoni were the success behind the Mandalorian. Anyone who has watched the behind the scenes documentaries for the Mandalorian can clearly see that in the round table discussions. If you haven't watched them, I highly recommend you do. They literally state how it is their job to give the fans what they want. While the other camp (Kennedy & her minions) say they have NO obligation to give the fans what they want. Even though it's the fans who make or break a franchise. I'm not gonna go into all the behind the scenes info/rumors or whatever you want to call it.

She gets credit for Mando cause she is the President of LFL. She also takes responsibility for the failures as they happened under her watch. EVERY leader is responsible for the actions of those under them. Whether they acted on their behalf, or not. Both success and failure. That's how things work.

And of course Abrams is responsible. But that's a whole other discussion.

I have watched those. And Kennedy is in them. Kennedy is an executive producer on The Mandalorian and she is Favreau and Filoni's boss.

There is no "other camp of Kennedy and her minions."

So once again, if Kennedy is responsible, as a leader, for the failures of RoS, then she is responsible, as a leader, for the success of The Mandalorian. Favreau and Filoni don't have carte blanche to do whatever they want. They answer to her, just like everyone else as Lucasfilm.

You cannot have it one way and not the other.

We must've watched two very different shows. She was barely in any of the round table conversations and she contradicted herself many times on what she has said in previous interviews. And Favreau clearly showed her opinions little respect. To the point where it was almost laugh out loud obvious.

But, this is a Luke Jedi dolly thread, not a movie or tv show thread. So no need to litter here. So I'm just gonna leave it at that. But you clearly do not follow any of the behind the scenes drama that's been happening for years now.

Enjoy Kennedy and her "successes". Make sure to spread love for the new High Republic stuff as well.

The success of Mando is due to Favreau and Filoni, the failure of ROS (though I liked it best of the ST) is due to both Kennedy and Abrams.

Amazing to think that Mando S1 had a budget of $100m and delivered over 5 hours of some of the most adored SW entertainment in decades - ROS cost nearly three times as much (four times if you include marketing) and delivered less than half the number of hours of some of the most derided SW entertainment. And seemingly derided from "both camps" of fans - those who liked the rest of the ST, and those who didn't.

But if RoS had a 5 hour or even 4 I’m sure it would have been better. Apples and oranges. I feel Abrams crammed too much to RoS in a short amount of time. Needed to be at least a 3 hour movie. Get rid of the ceremonial scene and Snow planet scene and done something else. Oh well. Still a good movie.

Who knows. One has to admit that, at the end of the day and irrespective of running times, the characters in TM are much more liked (and arguably likable) than those in the ST.

There hasn't been many credible leaks with "behind the scenes drama" so lets not put that out there and give click bait youtubers the time of day. Too many youtubers and crappy "news" websites will do anything for a click.

Fair to say that the ST struggles comes down to Kennedy, Abrams and Iger though.

To get back on topic...been on the waitlist for this figure for so long, do not see it being converted ever lol. Think I have a better chance of Dooku converting.

It definitely felt like it could've been split into two movies with some more footage.

I have this figure and the deluxe figure, and I'm going to display the Endor instance of Luke and the Throne room instance. I'm looking at what I have left over, a head, a vest and the brown robe, and I'm wondering what would be the most cost effective way to create a decent looking Jabba's palace Luke? I'd need a suitable body with the black suit I suppose? Anywhere I could obtain such a thing?

Toy Anxiety for most of it, depends on how much you cover up Luke with the cloak, you can get away with cheaper/non-original shirt/pants/boots. Otherwise check eBay. I'd still just buy a cheap body from Toy Anxiety or a KO True Type unless you definitely want the same Hot Toys one to be exact.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look. I'm not too worried about the body as long as it looks right under the robe and the head and hands works with it.
