It's the bulging below the lip which makes it look like a tongue. There should be a smooth transition.



That part, as in all humans, does not bulge outwards in Ewan's face.

The lower lip definitely throws me as a tongue.
under certain light it isnt as noticeable,but the closeups...gee!!

Ehh **** it, I'm over the wrinkles. They won't make another one of him with wrinkles, unless they do a Mustafar battle damaged one, but considering Sith Anakin didn't even have that I doubt it, so this will do. Still looks great, just in comparison to what could have been is incredibly disappointing,

i do love the accessories that come with the figure.That hologram table is pretty sweet as well as the battle droid pieces.
Kinda makes me wish HT would make the Millennium Falcon holo table like that

I cant for the life of me understand why they made that bulge so pronounced under his actual lip. Everything else is great, and in the right lighting the mouth looks normal, but under different lighting, that bulge really does draw your eyes into seeing a tongue sticking out.

Im wondering if any of the custom paint folks will have any solution for this? Maybe darkening the lower lip more to make it more pronounced? I dont know.

Under certain lighting, that bulge becomes less noticeable and sculpt resembles McGregor more.


As can be seen in real footage, there is no bulging there.


So, the cause of lipgate is that bulge. When it is corrected, lip resembles a lip rather than a tongue. Shame on you HT, sorry.

This figure is the equivalent of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry’s date only looked attractive in certain lighting.

Too funny, yet 100% true. Some lighting/angles the figure seems perfect, and others all I can see is a little kid sticking his tongue out at his parents.

Yeah, the RotS Kenobi sculpt looks more like Ewan than the ANH sculpt looks like Alec. ANH sculpt looks to have more detail though.

Gotta say, despite being a bit cartoony I see a stronger likeness on the old Sideshow TPM Obi-Wan than on this figure. And it's still concerning that despite the HT sculpt looking better in some closeup shots, it always reverts back to looking smooth and generic as hell from a distance.
