Hot Toys : New DX TDK Joker 2.0 Coming

Just with the DX releases averaging 3-4 releases a Year, having a lot of Batman versions in a row would really clog down that line for quite awhile.

Not sure what the big deal is. DX is just googly eyes and special packaging. It's more of an extension than it's own line. I doubt Hot Toys has a real limit to how many DXs they will make in a year. If they feel a character justifies a DX, they'll make it a DX.

A TDKR and a Returns Batman will be made either way so it really doesn't matter whether or not they're DX, they're each still taking up a spot.

Indeed he is. And the Batman Returns Batman will more likely be a DX. Hot Toys has displayed the DX logo with the Returns license. They havent done that with the Dark Knight Rises that Im aware of.

And the Batman Begins "First Night Out" 10th Anniversary figure wasnt a DX.

Hot Toys has officially said that each and every one of the figures being released will be DX? Weird I mustv missed that...Just because it has the DX logo on the Returns announcement doesnt mean every one will be DX. Look at the original CR Superman announcement before you go off acting like you know everything.

Thats why I said most likely will be...HT can change whatever the hell they want whenever the hell they want.

I'm of the opinion that the same character should never be released twice under the DX banner. Free up the slots for other iconic characters.

But thats becuase i want fresh characters getting figures, ones i don't have or passed over already, it seems most want the same characters getting figures though

I understand how you feel, but HT is at least being smart about their business. They're definitely milking their cash cows, but while unannounced... It's very evident/clear to me they're reinvesting their profits into production ability. All these figures coming out have different sculptors/design teams than ever. We're now getting a ton of different body type characters and quality had still been great! And lastly... It's very obvious they're producing a lot for each figure seeing as how almost none of them are even sold out. I'm fine with their strategy. I'd be unhappy if we got 90% of cash cow rereleases, but they're really not even accounting for 10% of their line... While easily surpassing that in terms of profit percentage.

See thats my thinking too. So far DX1-10 have been pretty diverse. I consider NOLANs and BURTONs versions of Batman and Joker diverse enough to warrant them being DXs.

I just dont see TDKR Bats getting the DX11 or 12 spot just because hes Batman.

A DX02 2.0 is more likely, but they havent even hinted at that possibility. And if that was their planning I think they would have announced that along with Joker 2.0...just my 2 cents.

Thats why I doubt it will be a DX. Theyve already done it. Thats why a 2.0 of DX02 would make more sense.

The one on the left is the original DX01, the one on the right is a bootleg copy of it

I'm almost positive those are both the recast version...


Looking at my DX01, the irises don't look like that. These have a very unnatural color to them.

Look at it this way, Would you expect HT to release another Jack Sparrow from POTC 5 as a DX even if he attire was exactly the same as it was in Stranger Tides? Or a another Indiana Jones but this time The Last Crusade?

Why would you expect HT to DX another version of Batman that has essentially been done already?

If they are going to re-DX Nolan Bats then they might as well make it a 2.0

I really feel that if they were going to DX Nolan Bats, they would have hinted at it or announced that the Dark Knight Rises was getting the DX treatment. So far I have not seen anything official stating they are so Im assuming they aint.

I agree. If this ever sees the light of day, my opinion is that it shouldn't take up a DX 'slot'. It should simply be 'DX01 2.0', rather than DX12, 13 or whatever. To serve up a rehash and badge it with its own place in the DX line-up would be pretty lame.
