Hot Toys or NECA?

I agree with this sometimes, but it's like this on pretty much any forum I've ever visited in my experience.

I used to collect both HT and NECA. And, depending on how their 18" Predator turns out, I may get back into it and buy him and the 18" Alien for displaying together. But really, if someone doesn't like what someone else likes, who gives a flying frick? Get on with your life and respect eachother's opinions.

That's pretty much the truth. If you love NECA figures, then buy them and avoid Hot Toys like the plague if you hate them. And the same if you hate NECA and love Hot Toys. I don't see how trying to convince people to think the way you do is going to make any difference in your collecting habits or what your personal collection means to you.

I like to collect things from both companies and think they both put out some cool stuff from time to time. I buy a lot more from Hot Toys, but NECA has a few great series like Bioshock and the Predators that I really enjoy as well.

I know Dave's smart enough to have done that after his 3rd incarnation but IPs can be changed.

I have had some HT preds in my hand and left them at the store...I will be painting up WOLF and see how that looks. From what I can tell, NECA seems to have much more "skin" details in the bodies.....(please don't hit me...!!!)

One repainted set of all three figures, or at least Classic . lol, just kidding around. I agree with you on the skin detail issue. Up until these new upcoming versions, previous Predators all came with the same hard plastic bodies. There was a bit of texturing, but also a lot of smoothness. Those releases relied more on skin paint apps, so I get what you mean. That issue should be fixed with the new Predators figures HT will do.

I am not taking sides here...but...

from just my stand point and opinion, just a straight side by side visual, while HOT TOYS is very impressive, all the detail added to the structure of building detail(scales, wrinkles, etc) has to go to NECA so far. I like me some HOT TOYS, but man, what NECA has been able to capture in the small details is great..But then again, NECA didn't pick up the predator line until AVP, so the Wolf was great, and the new stuff is great.

As for the new stuff, I still have to get those in my hand.

I still say get them all and let your shelves sort them out
