The rubber on the chest cracks. They look awesome but not worth the price or the hassle of a damaged figure at Medi's pricepoint.

Making a further joke of Medicoms pricepoints is the fact that their QC - for so-called 'high-end' collectibles - is no better than NECAs. Figures arrive broken. A really awful company.

i've owned 2 Medicom figures (Boba Fett & Rocketeer) and they were ____ing awesome. i don't know of any QC issues with them though. the only thing i didn't like was they weren't 1:6 scale.

Assuming you still own Boba, be absolutely careful with the body. It's made of egg shells.

heh, yeah i've actually heard that before. so when i got it, i pretty much just took it out of the box, put it in a cool pose and left it alone in the display case. it was one of my favorite figures for a while, but i'm too ocd about stuff being in scale, so it had to go.

Some good advice, and some moronic advice so far. I'm still on the fence about all this, but I'm leaning towards Hot Toys at the moment.

I don't want a collection with a mix of different scale figures...

Hot Toys is a good company if you want great detail. But you gotta pay the price.

NECA is cool if you're starting out. They're hit and miss at times.

But they are cheap. So it's not like you'll feel guilty if a 15 dollar toy breaks. Plus they're easier to get.

I never hated NECA....i'll still buy their stuff. But they havent put anything I really want. Atleast until the Classic A and P 2 pack comes out.

I used to collect HT preds & aliens, but ended up dumping 'em off when I kicked the 1/6 habit. They are beautiful figures, but the main thing that turns me off is the fragile bits and rubber parts. I had aliens that were already rotting within a year of release. I have no idea if the current stuff has those issues though Space is a factor for me as well, these guys do add up to a lot of shelf space when you get your collection going.

I really love predators though, so now I'm just going to get my cheap fix through the NECA figures. Hopefully they revisit some AVP designs in the new line.

Sandman, if you go the HT route I'm sure you'll enjoy them, they are very impressive in person. Despite the issues I've had with 'em, they were always visually stunning pieces.
