Sounds cool Paul, I've got my fingers crossed that when my replacement shows up Wednesday, it's fully functional, if it's all good, picture time can finally commence.

Cool, I'm done detailing the PL for the most part, need to figure out the set up (camera angles, pans, etc) and backlighting...

I'll try... I'm starting with a floor shot, that might work better as a final "moment" thing for what I have in mind... we'll see... :D

Great to hear you both are so close to posting your PL goodness. Seeing what all you guys have done with your Rip-loaders is about all the PL love I'll be getting for a looooong time, I'm afraid. Mine will be waiting quietly in its shipping carton for me back in the states until next summer! :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

Well, the PL finally arrived on Monday!
:chew:chew:chew:chew:chew:chew:chew:chew:chew

Along with DID's Capt. Nixon figure, Ignite's Roman Legionary and Bespin Luke!

Seeing that I got so many toys at once, I decided to leave the best for last, so the PL will hang out under my tree till Christmas.

I've opened the package and looked at most of the pieces and everything looks to be working perfectly.
As everyone has said, it is one impressive piece!
I do think it looks a bit plastic-y though.
It made me think of Medicom's Stormtroopers and just how cool it is that the armour is painted white and not just white plastic. I think the PL would look inifinitely cooler if it were actually painted yellow, instead of it just being molded in that color.

But... it is an insanely cool piece!
Can't wait for Christmas day!
:D

Totally agree. One other thing that bothered me were the panel lines. (the line where 2 piece comes together. is there a name for that?) They stand out a lot and since each piece are painted differently, they stand out even more. If this was a normal model kit, it would not be a problem because you can use putty to seal the line and paint over it. but this is impossible to do with the PL unless you are prepared to paint the whole thing over. as cool as it is, I almost wish it came in unassembled pieces and not painted.

My replacement should be home waiting for me tonight, and with a little luck, is fully functional, very exciting :rock

Replacement arrived and working great, finally have a working PL, BUT, I just got done putting it back together and strapping Ripley in and attaching all the hoses, so, pictures will come tomorrow, eyes are a bit too tired to focus on anything right now.

Man though, my old PL definitely had issues, I noticed a difference in the sound during the spinning (without the gears grinding) and the contacts are equally sticking out on the good one, but one was in more on the broken one, so makes me feel better about this lasting to see such differences.

I love this thing :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock

Great to hear it arrved intact!

Can't wait for pics...

Thanks Paul and actually BIG kudos to Sideshow, there were batteries in it so I know they tested it before sending it to me instead of taking a chance, that's GREAT customer service.

Well, I had it turned on for like 30 minutes for shooting, so I feel very safe saying it's all good :) Now a few more sessions to really make me feel safe and I'll start customizing her with dings and all. Now onto the pictures. It's a little challenging to find a good lighting scenario where the lights of the PL aren't overexposed but the rest of the PL shows up.

Love the cage of Jaws shots Sean.

Question: Is your vertical light bar fully lit? Most of ours are top half lit.

NICE!

The piston from the welder is loose though.

PS. I'm having the same "problem" taking pictures of the PL.
Damn light! :emperor
