Hello Everyone,
It?s been awhile since I posted anything here lately. Today I wanted to share my Hot Toys Predator 2 ?Battle Damaged? version repaint. I had this figured stored in my closet for quite a while. It was actually giving to me but I had no space to display it. I have the space now but looking at the body paint app just doesn?t cut it for me. The head paint app is fine. I?m just going to focus on the body and trophy skull repaint only. Usually, I don?t do any painting this late in the year but the weather has been favorable and since it just a body repaint, it shouldn?t take too long to complete.
As you can see the body paint app is quite lackluster. I know the amour will cover most of it but they really did a poor job with the body paint. Luckily the head paint app is quite nice. Also the other issue is the body design which they corrected in the newer version but it will have to do.
First off is to primer the entire body. Next is the first layer base coat.
Layering the paint will start to bring out the details. This will lay the foundation for the overall final paint app design.
Now it?s time to apply the final main base coat skin tone.
I?ll go over this again and layer in the darker tones along with the lighter tones to finalize the paint app.
With base layers all applied, it time for the fun part, the spotting! The base has also been painted.
Initial hands and feet detailing.
The trophy skull & spine will get properly bloodied up for that fresh kill look.
Applying the clear coat to seal in the colors.
Well that's it for now. Next up is to get him all dressed up for the hunt. I'll post some follow up pics you can see how he's turned out. Cheers!
