Thankfully no. It arrived 'missing'. The issue with all the alleged broken tusks is due to how the piece was packaged at the factory. The foam and plastic that is wrapped tightly around the helmet for protection, looks to be the cause of the loose/missing tusks. I found mine tucked in to the foam packaging (within the figure tray). I still need to properly glue the tusk back on.

that's bad. I would consider the figure ruined if I needed to glue something back on a 500$ figure and request a refund/exchange or replacement part. A broken part on a figure is what annoys me the most because I know it's there even if I "fixed" it

Sometimes on cheaper figures I get 2 of them just in case this happens so I have a pristine backup

Is the tusk a separate part that got loose or is it really broken off?

Ahoy!
So Shipmates, if you have this figure, do yourself a huge favor and break it down and redress. Seems obvious, but repositioning the cod piece and finessing the inner robes and cape makes a huge difference in improving the overall proportions. The shin guards and huge feet don't seem to distract me the way they did when first out of the box.
For those interested, here are some good shots of the body and suit. Its lean, but certainly not scrawny as some of the proto images leaned toward. It could still use a pinch more padding here and there, but in hand is looks really good.

Proportions look good in those shots...hopefully that tusk issue is only on a few...

My overall impression is that it is a great figure. Feels amazing....I believe he has enough bulk, but could use a little more but it?s good enough. Everything just looks great on this whether it?s the way the cape drapes, the chest and belt boxes, the hands. Any pose you put him in he is intimidating, imposing and the best Vader I?ve ever seen.

The best is the helmet and the Anakin head sculpt. Both are extremely well done and will be hard to beat in any scale.

Only negatives are prob the upper stand piece which isn?t necessary. I wish they went for a bespin or Death Star looking base. The 1/6 HT ESB Vader stand is more of what I wanted but in 1/4 scale.

Overall, prob one of my fav if not my top figure.

I'll probably feel the same as you when i have it in hand...going from the few vids and pics i've seen so far it all looks mightly impressive...

I had to Jump through a fair few hoops, they made me fill out a form + send A copy of Card and photo ID which I was totally disgusted with defo won't be buying from sideshow again. All in a short time frame or they were gonna lock my account and my order would of been automatically cancelled.

Stress of that has some what tainted me even wanting this.

None the less I'm planning on unscrewing the normal bottom base putting some Remote LED lights in as I don't have space for the double tier. Doesn't look bad in the latest video!

Broken tusks aren't new that's for sure. My HT ESB Vader came with a broken tusk and I had to get a replacement helmet from Sideshow. It was painless but annoying.

There is no chance I am gluing anything on this figure. Though maybe it's easier with the larger size of 1/4 parts. I hope they are ok but if they come broke I'm returning it or getting a replacement helmet again. Me and superglue aren't a good mix.

The tusk is a separate piece. Mine was not broken, just came loose through packaging/shipping I suspect. Of all the 'extra' parts HT should include, tusks should be prime among them. It does include extra belt and sabre clip studs though...

Really really want Either 1:4 Luke, C3PO or Stormtropper.

Hot Toys really could do something with 1:4 it's good to see them moving into the scale.
Random question whats the dimensions of the top part of the base?

But why do you need to glue the tusk back on ?

Well the Stormtrooper has been teased and prototypes made so that should be close (tbh I thought it would have been put up for PO shortly after Vader). And don?t forget about Kylo Ren 1/4 scale.

For anyone he who has Vader,
Can the helmet be assembled without the blank head, or is that a necessary component to keeping the helmet stuck together?

They should have included another helmet piece so that it can be displayed along with the figure in full helmet. To me that base is just pointless for most, I'll never display this with anything other than the full helmet and just a head on a helmet stand is weird lol. Oh well, looks great. Hope mine comes in a few weeks.
