Hmmm. OK while taking pics I've just noticed that the lower legs on my endo...appear to have been missed in the chroming process. I was looking at the heels to check if I had accidentally scraped paint off and it suddenly jumped out at me that the calve pistons are almost in their entirety a rusted, faded kinda thing. Can anyone else who has it check theirs? Theres also areas like this inside the thighs and in other places but I assumed it was deliberate elsewhere.

Its put a bit of a dampener on proceedings I have to say. I'll get some pics up. All $h!tty pics so far I'm afraid - small 'matter of interest' type pics rather than any cool display photos.

I've noticed that in the last few videos. You can see it in OMG's pics too.

Yeah OMGs seems to have the same thing with the lower legs, to some extent at least. I thought nothing of it when I first saw his pics, didn't even notice any imperfections. But what you see there on the shins isn't anything to do with lighting. The lower legs aren't chromed :dunno And that blackened area is on mine too.

I don't have it, but looking at OMG's pics, and a few others as well as the neny dee video it looks like the lower legs aren't chromed on any of them.

I didn't notice at all until you pointed it out though. :slap

I'd assume it's deliberate.

$h!tty pics or not, unless you feel they are doing the figure an injustice, we want to see 'em.

edit: Note to self, work on posting speed...

Sorry that these are my first pics but^

I've used flash to really try to bring it out. It doesn't actually look that noticeable in person else I would have seen it instantly. You can see theres the same unpainted areas up in the underside hips area aswell. In fact the whole thing is covered in 'imperfections' on longer inspection but to see the entire lower legs like that caught me by unpleasant surprise.

I obviously wasn't looking close enough at the pics, 'cause I didn't notice it. I'll have to see for myself, but it doesn't sound like a deliberate surface treatment? If it's supposed to be like that then it's kind of understandable, but if it looks like a manufacturing boo-boo that's not cool. Again, it'd be nice to be able to compare with an EB version.

Yeh, that's definitely deliberate A-Dev. I think you'll just have to get used to the 'look' of what they're trying to achieve, against your expectations that the whole figure should be chrome.

If its deliberate I'll accept it I guess. I'm already less pi$$ed about it after having discovered that it appears to be the same on the other examples we've seen. Thus even if it were a factory error - I'm not the only one with it and that makes it easier to live with.

This isn't an error. Some folks are expecting a factory fresh Endo, whereas this is based on the T1 endo, which we don't see till it's standing up in a huge fire. Those are flire/burn marks and oxidation (or charring) from the burning fuel at the feet of the Endo when he gets up. The spots are also related to this. The weathering is done to reflect the scenes the figure is based on. In this case, the endo just had the flesh burned off it. If it makes you feel better, look closely at the proto pics on page one. It's there too, though more subtle than the production piece.

I'm assuming it's supposed to represent exposure to the tanker explosion and walking through the resulting fire, tarnishing the metal? I'm reasonably certain when it shows a close-up of 1:1 endo feet as he's limping after them right after the wreck, they are clean and chrome. Does anyone have any pictures of the stop motion puppet? I wonder if his legs are charred up?

Yeah, but since when does HT pay attention to details like that? :lol

Also you'd think they'd have also noticed that one of his calve pistons is broken and warped causing his limp.

I dunno, hey as long as everyones has the same thing I can deal, I just don't want to be the only guy with this flaw if it is one. :lol

The whole thing has imperfections all over it, as becomes apparent in some particular light moreso than in others, and much of it I'm sure is deliberate.

They were probably going for a more 'stylized' version, with all the weathering, rather than copying exactly what was used on screen. Kind of like the battle damage on the DX13.

It would definitely suck if hot toys forgot to chrome the bottom parts of the legs during assembly but I'm thinking this is all intentional. I think the best representation of what the legs truly look like is in Neny Dee's review since it's in natural lighting. You can definitely see the charring on the legs (around 3:10) but it looks fine to me. I'm cool with it but I'd still like to see Enterbay's.

Love this but the legs let it down for me, I would consider sending the legs out to get chromed.

Eh, I think it looks cool. If you guys want a factory fresh Endo, it may be better to wait on the next model or Enterbay's. T1's endo was not factory fresh.

Below is one the things that really impressed me, the stretching vertebrae, unique to this endo as far as I know:

^comparison of HT forearm with Enterbay forearm. HT fingers are longer.
