If the size is exactly the same, for me it's going to cost me 100 EUR to upgrade.

In Europe I bought and sold SSC R2 at the same price (130 EUR).

Now this is going to cost between 230 and 250 EUR, so it's a 100 EUR upgrade for better finish, and die cast dome, no seams. That's the biggest change. Most of the time I was posing R2 without accessories, so that's it for me.

I am going for it. Could be happier if R2 just was a little bigger.

I'm still not sold on this, especially since I already have the SS release. I'm a SW fan from way back, saw the original in the theater 28 times, but I still couldn't tell you how ANH R2 differs from TFA R2? I'm thinking 99.9% of the people, including me, would only recognize him as R2-D2. Kind of feel the same way about Vader, once I have one in my collection I don't really need a second from another film...saves me money for sure and again, its ANOTHER Vader. I could definitely see myself swapping out the SS 3PO with a HT version, especially if the hands were scaled correctly and minus the wonky thumbs, but R2 I'm not so sure about.

Also, we all remember how the Vader sound feature worked out right?

I felt exactly the same way until I saw it for the 29th time.

My man! I got you beat that summer with a neat 30 times... but I got respect squared for anyone who saw it more than 5 times in 1977.

:hi5: At the very least it's nice to know there's a SS Freak that's about as old as me...graduated in 1979.

HT is coming out with air and H2O I'm in.

I feel the same. The SS R2 is fine for a shelf. I bought an unpainted and got the Leia table by itself. Friday my SS R2 & C3PO PFs come in and I'm done with these 2. $613 shipped for both brand new.

:lol

Truth is, that's how a real lightsaber fight would look like.

Not this....

I remember kids on the playground boasting about how many times they'd seen it that summer. But since it stuck around in theaters for over a year back then, racking up 22 or 28 or 30 viewings was pretty easy.

I saw it in my old home town theater that only played one movie at a time; many nights I'd sit through the first show and stick around for a second cause they'd only clear the theater between shows if they needed the seats for paying customers. Yes, simpler times.

That's funny, my friend and I did the same thing. When we went, it was for two showings back-to-back. The first few times I got to see it at the Chinese theater in Hollywood, which was insane because of the crowds and excitement, then about 26 times or more at my local theater like you -- every other week we'd go see it twice -- plus a few more times back at the Chinese when my parents could drive us up there. At one point it felt like that movie was going to play forever in some theater somewhere.

I still have all the old ticket stubs -- back then they looked like ones you'd get at the fair, basic roll of "tickets", different colors. I forget if the Chinese theater ones look different.

Pre-ordered! Now waiting for C-3PO with swappable arm.

I'm hoping for a standalone BB-8 for the next episodes. For now I'm not interested in Rey.

One of my earliest memories, was those basic roll tickets...for that first Star Wars film my parents took me and I remember a green-blue colour. And a poster of a Sandtrooper on a Dewback staring me down in the lobby. With "big kids" goofing around and yelling "Take me to your leader". They seemed so sophisticated and worldly. :lol
