There is something about Solo and Indy that was never meant to be a crotchety old man.

The servicing of our love of brands has made it a reality though, and it's not like it isn't interesting in some ways.

That being said, no crotchety HF - and relying more heavily on the highly questionable gravitas of Rey and Finn (without HF to play off of) - is going to be a massive test for TLJ... MH or no MH.

Hey, maybe that's where the Porgs come in.:lol
You bring up a good point I hadn't thought much about. If Luke gets offed soon (I pretty much expect that to happen), then we've got Rey, Finn, Kylo, and a smattering of secondary characters left to pick up all the dramatic weight. I'm not really sure how effective that can be. But maybe they'll recruit some more, good actors. Certainly, Oscar Isaac has strong acting chops, though I didn't get the impression that he would be a primary protagonist moving forward.

I hope you are wrong about them killing off Luke. He is the only charactor that lends any credence to the films at this point. Rey is dull, Finn is TOO goofy, Po is Wedge 2.0, and Leia, well, you know. :( Luke needs to be the Gandolf here... ready to swoop in and save the new characters at the climax. It would be fitting for a character who always needed to be rescued in the originals when he was starting a long his hero's journey. That said, I have little faith the powers that be will see any of this this way.

Luke should have force pushed her off that cliff. Then say "yup, still the only jedi."

The End

Roll Credits.

No Moar Star Wars.

Hadn't thought of that. Given the demographic they're aiming at, it's quite possible they would, but they already lost me at heart when they gakked Han. Robbing the happy ending and resolution from the OT was probably necessary -- but cynical.

I enjoyed the grit and intensity of Rogue One, and can sense some of the magic of OT-style storytelling in TFA, but it's true. You can never go back.

Found this thread back on page two...! So do you guys think that this R2 will hang around SS to warrant free shipping and some sort of dollar amount off? For those on the fence what price point does it need to be at to pull the trigger?

I'm not really sure about whether or not this will get on the list of usual suspects who are eligible for any coupon. Some of the other Star Wars figures are there, even if they are second runs. That speaks to the popularity of the property and the massive run sizes they must have. But free shipping? Not sure about that. I don't think you necessarily need to rush to order.

Get it off ebay if you want free shipping. Gonna be a long wait at SS. Don't they still have their own various R2s still available?

I generally save more than $30 buying HT Star Wars off ebay rather than Sideshow or a retailer.

DO you have a go to seller?

DO you have a go to seller?

????

I don't get the question? Do you mean, make an offer? If so, if its a seller that I know will accept offers I generally make an offer. I offered a well known seller $175 for Yoda that he was offering at $200. He turned me down and said he could only go as low as $189 shipped. I waited two weeks and won his auction for $153. Sometimes it pays to decide what you want to pay and stubbornly wait.

I have also missed out doing that. But more often I get the figure at a good low price. Especially Star Wars.

I think Bo just means if there is a particular seller that you buy figures from, maybe more often than other sellers, because he may have the best prices or is reliable/trustworthy.

I buy from most of the well-known Asian dealers: lootentoys, coolqueenyc, lockrock for example and many USA sellers. But I'll buy from anyone if they have a good rep and I'll research the negative complaints to see who I think is at fault. It all depends on price. My offer email is very polite and I use it as a feeler email to see how they respond and how quickly. Many times I get turned down. Just keep at it. Someone will eventually bite... or during that time you might win a low auction. One's that close on Sunday or on Holidays are best.

Mine just got picked up in HK. Still got 2 months before I get it here though lol.

I agree that the price on SSC is very steep given I have to pay shipping AND customs, which combines to an additional $50 USD!.

Very true. Patience IS key in this hobby when wanting to save or even to obtain that must have piece. Something I don't have allot of most of the time when it's usually want want want.

I know a lot of people pay the premium to have the figure first and to be the first to post pictures and a review.

I will do that with only highly coveted figures for me... like Tarkin.

But since prices have crossed the $200+ mark, I have been shopping ebay a lot more and have had great success. You old timers probably remember when I used to be one of the first always with pics and reviews because of my proximity to Sideshow but those days are long gone now. I rarely get a figure first. But this also helps keep my collection in check better. Sometimes if I wait long enough for a price drop I come to realize I don't even want the figure anymore... like Ultron Mark 1... I waited for it to go down to $160... and it did, but now I don't even want it at that price.
