OK so now Im skeptical on making the R2 purchase because of what I'm hearing and Ripley not looking that great makes me hesitant there!!

Apart from the light plastic body, I've got no real complaints with my R2 so far. The sensor was really particular about where you point it, however. And the projector lights were extremely bright. Too bright. But otherwise, a very sweet figure.

Yeah, I didn't see that mentioned until now. That's what it seems like from videos and a bit disappointing.

There are three settings. Off. Projector only. And Projector with blinking lights.

That's a bit dumb, but never mind!

For some reason I had the impression they worked independently. Don't you tap different spots to turn them on?

No there's a single panel that you tap to turn the lights on to the different modes. You tap it once and the projector lights come on, tap it twice and the blinking lights turn on as well, you tap it once again and it turns off.

Ah okay, so just like the SS R2 but the reverse of what SS had. They had to be different than sideshow. Maybe independent ones would have been the trick.

Sounds like I'm not the only one with a backwards light-up feature. This is definitely not intentional, and certainly not because Hot Toys "had to be different from Sideshow." It's a mistake, and everyone missed it. :/

I picked up mine at local ups store today (had them hold it there) and I am happy to say my lights and sounds work. I am really liking the diecast dome. Projector lights are pretty bright but I am liking it. Not sure if I would have paid full price for this figure but I used the $50 off promo code sideshow mailed out to some people on this figure.
