I don't think many people bought this Vader to specifically represent R1 Vader; I think many got it to serve as a Vader representation in general because they preferred the glossier look and the better gloves, and the only two HT Vaders available right now are ANH Vader and this one. Once ESB Vader or RotJ Vader hits (which also have glossy looks), I think many people who purchased this one simply because they preferred the glossier look will be ditching it to get the glossy armor Vader from one of the OT films.

But what will be the differences in the ESB version? Basically no lines on the gloves, a small helmet variation? Are the lights on the belt and chest box slightly different? It's really small stuff, not something that would bother me at least. To go through the hassle of selling rogue one vader just for those minor aesthetic differences? I couldn't be arsed. The Rogue One version is fantastic, don't anticipate needing anything else. Though I admit that it was a wise boarder who stated "never say never" - quite right.

Yes to all of those as being differences.

And true that the differences are subtle, but probably for many, knowing that it specifically represents Vader from one of the OT films and from the film (ESB) that is arguably considered the best rendition of his armor, will be appealing.

I decided change the color scheme. Here some pictures it wasn't that hard. Why ? because the scale was off for me. Sideshow version is a tad too small for my eyes. IMG_20170518_182209.jpgIMG_20170518_182201.jpgIMG_20170518_184913.jpgIMG_20170519_211930.jpg

My Fellow Americans:

If yours arrived from Popcultcha's May 4th sale, how was it delivered -- Post Office? UPS? FedEx? Per tracking, mine arrived in town on Monday but he hasn't shown up yet. Annoying...

Popcultcha's packages always arrive via the Post Office. Your AU Post tracking number should give you updates on the US Postal Service website's tracking system once it arrives stateside.

Post office. You will have to sign for it I believe. My post office called to tell me it was in and I drove over to pick it up.

And smaller codpiece which doesn't look like space diaper? :)

No. It's nice but I'd take the ANH at the below retail prices it often goes for over RO at that price.

Agree. Great figure and I'm happy to have it for $230, but I wouldn't pay $350. Like Ton Ton says get ANH and wait for the likely soon to be announced Jedi deluxe version.

Cool. Thanks guys. I only paid $100 for my ANH Vader anyway with reward points.

I was just curious if it was a decent price. Thought of getting one for the gloves and selling the rest.

I have a question. Got the vader today, but i'm wondering. Paintwise, below his left cheak. Everything is gunmetal except that. Is this normal?

That's 100% accurate to the paint of the Vader mask in ANH which is what Lucasfilm copied when they made R1.
Also, the orbit and bridge of the nose are painted in the same dark gunmetal color, they did this so the Vader mask would show more of it's shape on film with the contrasting colors:

I believe they did the same color variation for Vader's mask in ESB & ROTJ, but the whole helmet in those two films is a bit different; there's no widows peak on the brow of the dome and the triangular vent on his chin is larger. Also, the right side tusk is darker and appears smaller on the ANH and R1 Vader masks.
The ROTS Vader mask is very different from all of them, it's symmetrical. The shape of the actual helmet of the OT Vader masks and dome are very asymmetrical. This image of the ANH helmet shows just how asymmetrical the Original Trilogy helmet is:
