On the contrary, I see this being very popular. Even getting people to maybe track down Batman and Robin because this is getting released. This is without a doubt one of my favorite announcements from Hot Toys.

I agree! Just the level of excitement for this figure speaks volumes...no guarantee that the chatter will translate into actual sales... But still...the DC animated movies are really popular and the next one is based on '66 Batman and the trailers look amazing (animated Romero Joker!!!!)! I think '66 Batman is having a little well deserved resurgence and I am guessing that now that there is life in the line...even the promise of a full sixties colorful Rogue's Gallery...we will see a huge spike in the prices on the the Hot Toys '66 Batman & Robin figures on the secondary market...glad I got mine as a set at an amazing price from a fellow Freak on the boards last month before Romero slipped out!

Everyone can go buy them 3 Leto Jokers .... I'm going for this one myself .
Nothing wrong with getting wrapped up with the newest thing, but I'm with you 100%. Romero is an icon, and gave us a classic looking Joker that will stand the test of time. Tatted up gangsta Joker. . .maybe not so much. Tux version would probably be the best scenario there, but I would be surprised if HT went that far with the variants.

And...there is already a '66 Batman and Robin set freshly listed on the boards...for around $210 more than I paid on the boards last month...it has begun!!!!

Can't see this being a big seller, assuming it gets released at all. Quite a few collectors sold on their 66 Batman and Robins, when it became apparent the car was not happening. I doubt a Joker figure will lure them back.

Sadly I don't think it would be very popular, either. Just based on sales of the prior figures. But I'll be getting one no doubt.

I have no batman figures but i have several joker figures. I even have the 89 Batmobile but no bat to go with it. I have always been a Joker fan so i probably will pick this and the 66 Batmobile up but still have no interest in Batman or Robin.

With you on that.

Although personally think HT will even do the tux version.

You can't find the West Batman for retail anymore, so it must have sold pretty well. Robin, not so much...you can still find him, but all the West Batman I've see are sold out or around $300 on Ebay.

I just picked them both up on feebay for just about retail (if you include shipping) - so they're out there but you may have to buy the pair to get that deal.

If you just got one, you may want to seek out the Tony Mei suit upgrade. The Bats suit was pretty terrible about getting little snags in it when you looked at it funny. And the color is off.

Thanks! I didn't realize Tony did one for the '66 Batman. I'll be posing it a lot for shooting so I may have to get this.

I seriously doubt that many customers were going to buy the car anyway. Most people don't have to space to display that huge vehicle.

Yep...Joker in all forms I imagine is a much bigger draw for most 1/6 collectors than a giant vehicle...I have a ton of figures but cannot imagine dedicating a lot of space to vehicles...now a display of every onscreen incarnation of the Joker on the other hand...

Yeah, I know there is a lot of frustration over the lack of the Batmobile. But realistically I can't imagine it had much of a ripple effect on sales of those figures. If someone was a big enough fan to get the car, then there's a far better than average chance they bought the figures regardless.

Maybe but i don't have any figures for my 89 Batmobile or Delorean. I'll pick up the 66 if and when it comes up for PO but i will not buy Batman and Robin but will most likely get this Joker.

I'm with you guys. Grew up watching these 66 tv episode reruns as a kid in the 70s and have always loved Romero' s Joker. So seeing this has made my day (hell, even my year) as I have both the 66 Batman and Robin and welcome the addition of a Romero Joker with much excitement and anticipation. This is the type of surprise reveals from HT that I like.

I'm with you, hulk181! I can't wait to have a Romero Joker along with my 66 Bagman and Robin figures! I have the SS comic batman and Joker, the Nicholson Joker with both Burton Batmen, and a Ledger Joker with two old the Nolan Batmen. Romero just completes the set!
