Yeah I hate how they do that to us !
Alright, I'm confused. A couple of hours ago, wasn't this in the customs side of the board?
Am I the only one who doesn't need the Emperor to go with these guys? I've loved them since I was a child and I'm on the fence about the Emperor right now. I think this figure would look fine with RO Vader seeing as they guarded him in the movie.
Since they are guarding the Emperor and his Inner Circle alone they are kind of pointless.
He said it was to guard Vader.
Not that they would be alone. Just that he didn't need the Emperor to display with them.
Well, to be honest it's a little odd on both counts - that other than the steam/fogged glass, Vader appears to be buck-naked in the tank right in front of the Royal Guards, who are facing him...
And the idea that Vader needs to be guarded at all is sort of funny - like if he's on the can or in the shower his force powers are like false teeth left in a glass by the bed and unable to be used.
Yeah but did the emperor really need to be guarded?
He wasn't so much "guarded," they were more like his mostly-ceremonial doormen/gatekeepers/escorts - in the cut scene they did deny Vader entry though. They stood at the elevators inside the throne room and also outside. And they were there when Luke was brought in, as he probably did present a danger to Emps - though Emps dismisses them.
And you could argue that (forgetting the PT) the aged Emp in ROTJ is only able to nearly kill Luke with a slightly recovered Vader right next to him, and after a somewhat exhausted Luke had battled Vader. Not sure how things would have played out if Vader wasn't there at the start.
I just think RO Vader all nudie in front of the guards is pretty funny. I mean do they pass him a towel? Why are they there INSIDE the "shower stall" as it were, instead of outside where the servant guy enters. Bit of an odd choice is all.
They could just be perverts with an amputee fetish...
