Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

Oh, just a quick 2 cents on posing; some figures are actually extremely striking in a neutral pose. Batman comes to mind. I've seen some pics of Bats that look totally badass with his arms just at his side - with him, less is often more. Sorta frustrating for me, because I tend to like to pose my figures in action poses. I fuss and fuss over them, and then someone does something very simple and it looks crazy awesome. Then, there are some figures that scream out for dynamic poses like, say Spider Man. The essence of the character suggests motion. It comes down to personal tastes, really, and I think that the pic of the detolf display looks rather reserved and tasteful. Would I do mine a little differently? Yep, that's what makes our collections fun and unique. But hell, if someone wants to keep their figures in the box and stick em on a shelf or wants to take pics of him/herself feeding HT figures to a crocodile, well - they bought they damned things, they can do what they like with em!

Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

I have no idea what that is, but I collect movies so I just buy steelbooks when they are available because they look and feel much better.

Often times, companies product sports card type collectibles for movies too. And just like the Sports Cards, they often include a rare or "chase" card that everyone wants to complete their set which is randomly inserted and a pain in the arse to find. Some toy companies do the same thing.... Masters of the Universe is one that comes to mind.

Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

I love seeing what others do with their shelves... Thats why I come here. I don't think I've ever thought to myself, 'That's a waste of my time'. My cases are a reflection of what I see, both dynamic and flat... I lay in bed thinking about how I can build around them, then more often than not, stick them in flat, boxed poses because I like them that way... Just my two cents... Please don't stop posting pictures because they aren't dynamically posed.

Also, I really want the first avenger, but with Hulk out, I can't afford to do too much right now... I love seeing a charachter shelf evolve like some of the Iron Man shelves out there with the same character in different outfits. Golden Age will be pretty awesome. I just hope it comes out and doesn't go the way of Stealth Iron Man.

Everyone should do what YOU want them to do with the hot toys THEY paid THEIR money for as opposed to you simply NOT BEING A RICHARD HEAD! :slap

Wow. You sound wound up. Maybe get some exercise?

No one's being told what to do, Captain Hyperbole. :lol

Just pointing out a mundane and boring display when I see it. :wave

Now I understand why Devil_666 called this guy a moron.

Good, so you realize kids result to insults because of low IQs. :clap

Do you mean resort "...to insults because of low I.Q.s"

Funny because I thought that low IQs usually resulted in selecting totally wrong words to use in a sentence.

Especially in sentences where you hope to come off as Captain Clever-Trousers.

For what it's worth, I like the poses he chose, because there were static. To me, this look is like a person is trying to recreate some publicity or promotional shot from the film.

And anyone that owns the 1989 BATMAN figure knows for certain that with some figures, less-is-more is definitely true.

I also like dynamic poses too, but there is always a place for the 'Movie Hero Parade' style pose in my opinion. I will not tolerate being subjected to a single opinion that is being presented as total fact.

Quick reply: Tommy, your Detolf looks fine. I am jealous of all your great figures, and will probably pose mine in similar poses. A great figure need not stand on his or her head to be cool, right?

Right.
