Well I couldn't chance the Sideshow queue and I've ordered 2 from TBA, one of my favourite trooper designs so didn't want to miss out.
Pop Collectible has some stock as well. I guess OSK will stock it as well soon.
He's confirmed he'll list them, and that he's already had them on order for a few months!
Since the release was planned months back it's been a pretty well kept secret as I don't think any Youtubers got wind of it.
Actually, Big Breda on Youtube shared the rumor this summer. Back then, a source told him Hot Toys where getting in touch with HK retailers to determine what sales volumes they'd expect on this, the Purge Trooper Commander and a Spiderman suit variant.
According to BigBreda's current live video, last week Hot Toys apparently sent photos of three figures to the distributors in China and asked them what their estimated pre-order numbers would be for them.
The figures were:
Range Trooper
Purge Trooper (with beehive helmet)
Purple Spider-Man

Oh, I do remember something like that.
Yet, it completely bypassed Man of Hot Collectibles' extensive 'insider' list.
I’m going to put him with my Solo deluxe figure wearing his heavy winter coat.Initially there were two things going against the figure...
1) It's a cold weather trooper so there isn't another type to display him with (unless he was retconned onto Hoth).
2) The train hugging boots are very specific so wouldn't make much sense if he was retconned onto Hoth, which would make the Andor version more versatile.
Would've been useful to walk around the exterior of an AT-AT though, to check for any pesky Rebels with thermal charges hanging off the underside...
Now there's the third thing, which hadn't stood out before as I didn't take much time looking at the promo photos:
3) The pleather coat. I don't worry much about pleather if it's unstressed, but I do get paranoid about bending the arms far enough that it creates deep crests and furrows that put extra stress on the material that could lead to cracks.
However, the Range Trooper design has really grown on me since my initial 'pimp trooper' aversion. The functioning magnetic boots are an interesting feature and open up new display options (as long as the ankle pegs are secure enough).
Don't know where I'll put him though.

And god, I hope that’s not really pleather
That makes me feel old.Never say never, but the Death Star Trooper was first shown in July 2016, almost eight and a half years ago.
