this figure would pair so well with the Inflames Killzone Helghast trooper

So frustrated I was in Hong Kong the week before this dropped. Would have picked one up locally from any of the Bases (assuming there were leftovers after member purchases).

Ouch! Price just keeps getting higher. I think I'm just going to admire this one from afar.

This will be one of those figures that goes off the charts pricewise.

I just opened him up as he had to take second place to Mars Toys' '66 Riddler.

The Hot Toys Exclusive label on mine is green. Wonder if that's a regional thing?

First thing I checked was the magnet strength, and as per the earlier report they're too weak to hold him to the side of a metal surface. The shot of him on the car door was faked in some way, because he slides rather than sticks.

Next thing was the coat material. I don't know why people were saying it wasn't pleather, because it definitely looks and feels like pleather. Up close photos make it look like material, but it feels smooth and squeaks when rubbed.

I wouldn't trust leaving the arms bent too far for long, which rules out cradling his gun.

On that matter, I found the sleeves too short to comfortably cover the black wrist pegs when the arms are bent, revealing that he has nothing under the coat but the skinny black arms.

One of the video reviews noted that the lack of an under suit also means that the coat sleeves fold deeply in on themselves, because there's nothing underneath except the body itself.

Aside from the posing limitations he's a really interesting figure to look at. While I know where he's going - the Imperial Hoth shelf - I haven't figured out how to pose him yet.

I tried different hand options, gun in right, gun in left, and the left pointing hand, but ended up going back to what I started with.

The gesturing options are limited.

He's indicating to where he spotted the Rebel scum cowering in their trenches...

Recently got mine in hand and while I haven't tested magnets I agree that it feels like pleather despite what others claim and that the sleeves are just a little short so wrists get exposed. I think some faux glove cuffs will be needed to properly hide the gap but with futzing you can get it covered just about as is.

My only real concern though is the jacket material, hopefully it lasts longer than the usual HT pleather. On the positive side if/when it does flake it may look ok anyway when the coating is removed since it is supposed to be off white and kinda grubby looking. It also wasn't obvious on screen that it was leather (I assumed they were wearing fabric suits in the movie when I watched it, didn't realise it was leather)
Harder to fix would be Vader pleather for example due to it needing that satin shine and clean look along with deep dark colour. I assume the backing fabric of the pleather on Range trooper is white/off-white so perhaps waxing the fabric will achieve similar look to original pleather look.

I like the line up, now you just need General Veers. I need the Sideshow AT-AT driver and snow commander, they look great. I do have the Kenner and Marmit AT-AT drivers but the Sideshow one got the colurs more correct.
