This seems to be just a quote from the interview from months ago.
If HT does get to work on Star Wars it would most likely be a joint venture with SSC. It's probable that SSC doesn't even need Hasbro or LFL's permission to do that, since both companies have to approve any new figure anyway.

I'm quite satisfied with Sideshow's line, but I would definitely be up for some droids, Chewie, and I'd like an updated ROTJ Luke.

I think Hot Toys should be granted full control of producing Star Wars 1/6th figures and vehicles..because you know if they made them, they would make SS figures look like hasbro..we need one company to make perfect versions of Star Wars characters and i know Hot Toys is the only one that can come close.

I'm all for a joint venture - HT + Sideshow.
With the POTA, HT will have practice with real hair for ob figures like Chewie, and we know they can do awesome robots.

Instead of wishing Hot Toys would take over the SW license, maybe we can wish Sideshow will hire more people like Trevor Grove.

Head sculpts are generally the least of our worries with Sideshow.

I am with you on this. I would rather see an expansion of the line than to have new figures that are out of scale or repetition.

Man, i'm almost positive that HT would have light up sabers with their figures. SS or Medicom needs to get on that.........................Yeah right!

I'd rather not, it'd probably add $20 at least to already pricey figures and for how little I'd turn them on, I'd rather save money and let folks that want lights send their sabers off to customizers.

I've always said it would be nice if Sideshow could offer accessory packs - one type being light up sabers.

Regardless of sabers, I got a hankering for droid figures today, and if it takes HT's involvement, so be it, but i want them, Battle Droids, Super Battle Droids, Grievous, Magna Guards. 3PO and R2 go without saying, but I want some military droids. I was boxing up my Hasbro stuff today and looking at the Super Battle Droids, I couldn't help thinking how cool a high end, 1/6 SBD would be.

for me, it'd be HOT TOYS. hands down. no contest. :maul
sideshow makes good stuff. esp their statues n comiquettes. but recently their 12" output has been mediocre at best. and they STILL haven't nailed mark hamill's likeness after several tries.
i'm positive yulli would do a great luke head sculpt. and agree with everyone here who said HT's quality and quantity of accessories would blow sideshow outta the water.
and talking abt hot toys' QC or materials, i think sideshow fares even worse. my 1:1 endoskull had a plate from the CPU chip holder fall off, and so many people have complained abt the 1:1 iron man bust. and my friend's 12" sideshow indy came with a broken wrist and loose hip. luckily his dealer allowed him to change it on the spot.
as for other makers, forget medicom. their costumes SUCK big time! look at their joker. what a joke.

Do you think we will ever get Hot Toys Star Wars 1/6 figures?
Just wondering what people's thoughts are on this and also if the demand would be there?
Personally, a HT Han Solo is top of my list.
