Re: Do you think we will ever get Hot Toys Star Wars 1/6 figures?

One thing people always mention around here is that quality goes down when production goes up. If HT got the SW license and had to produce more to meet demand, I guess quality would go down some.

A question guys, do you think SS sells as well over seas as HT's does stateside? Just wondering?

You'd have to ask HT and Medicom. From what I've seen, they distribute SS products in their stores. But you bring up an interesting point...

Do you think Batman is more appealing than Star Wars worldwide? Secondly, how much of the world do you think has the surpluss of cash to dump on $100+ collectibles? This might explain why the runs are smaller and only A-listers are made.

TDK is the biggest license HT has ATM and is their current cash cow. You can't really compare that to the, in your words, "juggernaut" that is Star Wars. But rather than flesh out the TDK line with Ras, Scarecrow and Gordon, they're banking on a 3rd and arguably unnecessary version of the Joker (for reasons I suspect but won't mention for derailing the thread into BS).

That would depend on the pricepoint, would it not?

I think it depends on the license. HT TDK and Rambo figures and such are characters that are popular in the states, while those movies characters of the movie that HT is making and making figures from prolly won't sell many here.

Yes. By far. And I say this being a casual Star Wars fan.

Well, I disagree. Movies aside, look at the overall licenses and the income from said licenses. And it's not like Batman hasn't had a fair shake at it toy-wise. Star Wars just sells more. Plain and simple.

Awesome. Maybe Sideshow could give us the guy that Rambo knocks off his dirtbike and takes.

Or at least 1 badguy. Did HT even make Brian Dennehy figure?

So then to maintain the quality of their smaller lines, HT would need to raise prices above $140 for SW, plus, the high LFL dues. So really, $160-$180 for a barebones HT Star Wars figure like Han or Obi-Wan.

Which, I believe, they would.

Wait, I mean "No. By far" :D (hence "casual" comment)

Time for sleep. . .

I wouldn't buy it either, but I suspect a lot of people still would. Enough at least to justify the cost.
