Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Man I love the darkened promo pic at the bottom. Just seeing the tall ST next to a shorter squat one really gives off a film accurate "non-idealized" vibe. Obviously the extras in the movie were just a bunch of dopes of various sizes and I can't believe HT captured that in figure form. :rock

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

I'd hoped HT wouldn't be rehashing so quickly. I don't see that these are any improvement on the SS figures.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

They got the height difference correct this time.

Rehash so soon? Didn't the SS Stormtroopers get previewed in like 2008? That's six years. SS didn't wait that long on Tamashii to preview threepio.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

The way I see it, they'll offer them individually but will try to sway people into buying the set for the exclusive blaster and mouse droid. Or they might not give us that option and just offer the set only since these are Stormtroopers.
I doubt they'll be offered as a set only. The Chitauri from The Avengers are similar in some ways being that they're figures some people wanted to army build but they were offered either as a two pack or separately. I see no reason why these would be different. I'm sure people will be swayed to get the set because of the exclusives and probably most people want a couple of them at least.

Them finally being "shiny" without any mods is enough to win me over and coming in a two pack will kill two birds with one stone for me. I welcome the height difference as well.

I see numerous differences and accurate changes. The FISD has helped me identity how troopers looked in the films and idealized merchandise/fan versions. Helps when you're apart of the 501st too.

Bet they'll feel better in hand too; weighty -- without all that clacking around as the armor slides all over the place like with SS.

Yes, any improvement over a previous SSC figure is a welcome release, IMO. Now if their next figure was an improved Bespin Luke then yeah I'd be a little annoyed at the rehash. :lol

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Awesome, just noticed it is a set. Now I need two or three sets.... would four be too many???

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Hmm. I don't want a short stormtrooper.

Why? There were short ones. They weren't all clones.

Here's a pic from the 2011 release of Star Wars proving with what he said is correct.

Besides, you can 'play' Luke/Han OR you can play two Stormtroopers barge into a room...

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Great looking set, I'll definitely pick it up... and I'd assumed it was a Han and Luke, but if they really made to different height troopers I'm very impressed. Love the extras, guess I can toss the Hasbro mouse droid in the trash now.

Here's the past for you guys to compare...

Honestly the Sideshow figure still looks good there... HT does look superior, but I'll probably keep both of my Sideshow Stormies.
