Okay, I need some guidance from the veterans again. Should I sell my SS ROTJ Darth Vader Deluxe (still MISB) or break it out and display it? I've looked through that thread and It made my head spin. One day, I'm good keeping my SS pre-orders for Star Wars OT stuff, then the next day I'm convinced to just wait on HT . Help!

Get ready for your head to spin some more. I'd say open it up. If you like the unseen, unannounced (2016?) HT one when pics start showing up, make your choice then. It'll probably be the ANH one too if that makes a difference.

I don't see Luke grappling hook though.

That would be on the back of his belt, where the canister usually is, so you need a rear shot of the short trooper to see whether it has it.

EDIT: Bummer... serves me right for not reading the rest of the thread before replying. This was shown several posts up. Guess it's a standard trooper. But still Luke short.

I don't like the short stormtrooper. If they sell the tall one individually I might pick him up but as of now it looks like an easy pass.

In the pictures it says it's a prototype, so Luke's grappling hook could still be added.

Not bad....only a $105.00 off. With Han and Chewy 2 pack going for $480.00, I think since they can sell the hell out of these they'll sell for $450.00. Remember HT is a business and not a charity folks.

I'm certain there will be an ANH version coming. Wouldn't hold my breath for an ESB/ROTJ one, though.

Modded Vader is actually quite nice.


To those who want a taller trooper, just buy a new body. The armor isn't being modded for a shorter trooper.

I think unless I'm blown away by a Han & Luke Stormtrooper or Vader, I'm happy with the ones I have. I can't keep updating all the time. This is the vinyl, 8-track, cassette, CD, MP3, back to vinyl , VHS,DVD, Blu-Ray, 4k saga all over again. I'm sure that Hot Toys will be better, but at some point, I have to draw the line. I'm sure that in 5 years some other company will come along and blow Hot Toys out of the water, and then it starts all over again.

You can't compare this to Han & Chewie,
It will be 300+, same costume no likeness rights, unless they include Han and Luke sculpts it will be between 320-370$ I'd imagine.

or, you could sell your current trooper for $200+ while you can and practically trade a SS trooper for HT trooper, much better trade IMHO.

It will be 300+, same costume no likeness rights, unless they include Han and Luke sculpts it will be between 320-370$ I'd imagine.

It will include Han and Luke sculpt, if SS version did why wouldn't HT? Remember, they said they wouldn't revisit what SS did unless they could improve upon it. No sculpts is not an improvement of what SS offered.

Yeah, I agree it will cost more than $300 with the possible inclusion of Luke/Han sculpts.
